Who is Santiago Alvarez?


Santiago, Alvarez, is the only child of the revoltionary general,
Mariano Alvarez adn Nicolasa Virata. He was born on Juy 25 , 1872
in Imus Cavite. He is able to make this memoir bacause of the fact
that he has the academic capability and he exist during the
timeline of the Katipunan. He is also credible because he became a
member of Katipunan and a participant of the revolution.

The Grave Crisis


The Revolution had been facing a
grave crisis and the Katipunan
forces in Cavite were suffering
defeat after defeat. WIth this,
the supremo Andres Bonifacio
scheduled a meeting on March 24,
1897 between the Magdalo and On, 24 March, 1897
Magdiwang leaders.
The Lt. General Crispulo
Aguinald, General Emilio
Aguinaldo's brother died on that
day at the Battle of Salitran and
thereby the scheduled meeting was
postponed.

On, 25 March, 1897


The assembly was finally convened
at Tejeros. Secretary Jacinto
LUbreras of the Magdiwang Council
signed the invitations of the
meeting and announce tha main
topic of discussion. However, Mr.
Sevirno de las Alas,rose to speak
about estaling a government.

This has resulted to many


arguments & discussion.Thus,
because of this Supremo onifacio
assumed the chairmanship beca and
ordered to prepare and election.
Yet, after the votes were tallied
and winners were announced there On, 26 March, 1897
were still chaos that eventually
pushes the supremo to declare null A day after the tumultuous
and void all matters approved in convention, Magdalo Pres.
the meeting Baldomero Aguinaldo requested a
meeting to continue and
revalidate the proceeding of the
election meeting. However, the
Magdiwang waited for several
hours that day yet none of the
mMagdalo members came, even
their President who requested
the meeting.

On, 27 March, 1897


The next morning, an eyewitness
revealed that indeed the Magdalo
council wasnt able to attent on
the requested meeting because
they also had their own meeting
on tanza. Thus, this really
disappointed the Supremo
bonifacio who felt that the
election was disrespected.
