Interpreting Experience
Exposed to over five different interpreting settings including business, religious, K-12, medical,
legal, Deaf-blind, etc.
Team interpreted for three different college courses and gained experience not only signing for
students but voicing for them as well.
Observed interpreting of a secondary classroom setting and worked one-on-one with USDB
interpreters to learn, experience, and receive feedback on my own interpreting skills.
Experienced VRI interpreting and the complexity of technical jargon that comes along with staff
meetings.
Experience
4 years of experience as a server in the food industry. Assigned to train the new servers in
customer etiquette, food handling, and restaurant finances. Engaged in professionalism and
organizational skills while serving at the restaurant, wedding dinners, and corporate banquets.
Led efforts to improve student engagement on campus and worked to improve philanthropic
donations intended for student scholarships. These efforts were achieved by working with
current students, past alumni, faculty members, and the community.
Improved my sign language skills through a student internship by working with Deaf and
hard-of-hearing children ages 7-9. Assisted the teacher and led morning exercises for the
students.

Activities of Service
Spent time in Guaymas, Mexico as a volunteer at a local orphanage. Our efforts were focused on
creating relationships with the children, remodeling the interior nurseries, and fixing the water
supply for the building amenities.
Spent 18 months in Atlanta, Georgia engaging in many different types of service. Service
opportunities range from time spent in worship services, nursing homes, food banks, and
working with other denominations such as the Salvation Army.
Helped in the process of building a medical clinic over the course of three weeks, and offered
English classes for the youth.
