HOW TO DESCRIBE SOMEONE

Begin with the person’s physical appearance, for instance: height, build, hair, eye colour,
nose, etc. Then, go into more detail, for example: hair length, the shape of the nose, etc.

Try to be as specific as possible. For example, rather than just saying that someone has
blond hair, think about what shade of blond hair the person has, maybe light blond. Also, think
about the hair length and hair style. Giving more information about each physical attribute will
help your description sound better.

What adjectives can be used to describe someone’s physical appearance? Think of the
adjectives you already know and write them down. Try to write at least three adjectives for
each category.
