 Practice About Patient’s Position
Januar Cahyani as a nurse
Eka Jayanti as a patient

In the morning in room X of a hospital in the Gianyar area, a patient named Ms.Eka,
60 years old, was treated for shortness of breath, in the morning the nurse who received the
morning shift carried out the activity of giving oxygen nasal cannula and the patient still felt
short of breath, then the nurse will help provide a comfortable position to reduce the patient's
feeling of tightness.
Prainteractions
The nurse looks at the patient's medical records and the patient's history of shortness of breath
during hospitalization.
Orientation
Nurse: good morning ms.
Patient: good morning nurse
Nurse: introduce my self is januar, I am in charge this morning to care for you, what is your
name?
Patient: my name is eka
Nurse: can I see the bracelet?
Patient: yes, you can
Nurse: OK ms.eka, earlier after I saw the medical record, you still felt tight, right?
Patient: yes, I still feel tight
Nurse: yes, because you still feel tight, here I will help give you a comfortable position so
that the tightness you feel is reduced and you feel more comfortable, are you willing?
Patient: yes, I do
Nurse: before I take action, do you have any more questions and complaints?
Patient: not nurse
Nurse: OK, just go ahead
Patient: yes, nurse
Work
The nurse closes the client's privacy and immediately begins the action given
Nurse: I will start the action (do PPE(personal protective euqitment), now I will help position
the in a semi-sitting position (semi-fowler).
Patient: yes nurse
Nurse: I'm sorry ms.eka, I will add a pillow to your head and you can sit down first, well
now you can go backward and you can lie down a bit, straighten your legs , so you don't feel
tight anymore.
Patient: yes nurse
Nurse: are you comfortable?
Patient: already successful, I feel more comfortable than before
The nurse then tidies the patient and removes the PPE

Nurse: well my mom has finished doing the action, how are you feeling?
Patient: I feel more comfortable and the tightness has also decreased.
Nurse: Do you have any other complaints?
Patient: not nurse
Nurse: OK, later around 12 at the noon I will come here again to give you medicine, is there
anything you want to ask again?
Patient: no
Nurse: if you don't have anything to ask again, I'll excuse me, thank you for your cooperation,
hopefully get well soon, good afternoon ms.eka (nurse smiles, holds the patient's shoulder
and leaves the patient's room)
