After the conduct of the study, the researchers have found answers for these questions and are
stated as follows:
1. What are the demographic profiles of the Grade 11 CSS students of Daniel Maramba
National High?
(58%) or 29 male respondents and forty-two (42%) or 21 female respondents. The age of the
respondents is composed ninety-six percent (96%) of the respondents are between the ages of 16-
20 while only four percent (4%) of them are between the ages of 19-20 years. The survey
questionnaire show that majority or 42% of the respondents got between 85 – 89 or very
satisfactory followed by the 21% got between 80 – 84 satisfactory. Ten percent (10%) got an
outstanding or between 90 – 100 and lastly 12% of the respondents got an average ranging from
75 – 59 or fairly satisfactory.
The majority of the respondents frequently use Facebook as daily social media with 63%,
followed by Twitter with 12%. Fourteen percent (14%) of respondents subscribed to twitter
followed by Instagram and Whatsapp falls with both 4% subscribers and the remaining 3% of
respondents or one of the students has subscribed to other social media namely, Wattpad and
YouTube.
b. Mode of social media used.
The device most used by the respondents when visiting social media sites falls with
phones having 66%. Computer shop the 2 nd most used of the respondents upon visiting social
media sites having 20% or 10 respondents are using it. And the remaining 7 or 17% respondents
the researchers found that majority of the respondents spend (five) 5 hours on social
media daily. Others (8) respondents spent four (4) hours on social media a day, another 14% of
the respondents also said they spend two hours on social media daily. Three hours is spent on
social media by 20% of the respondents daily, while the other remaining 24% said they spend an
