Introduction
This group is attempting a project in which we do an
investigation into the choice of device used by form 4 students at
El Dorado West Secondary School to attend their online classes.
This investigation should allow us to determine which is the most
used device for online classes.
Importance Of This Survey

 Compare results- Surveys results provide a snapshot of the thoughts,


opinions, and comments.

 Base decisions on objective information- Conducting surveys are an


unbiased approach to decision making. You can collect unbiased survey
data and develop sensible decisions based on analyzed results. By
analyzing results, you can immediately address topics of importance.

 Develop an understanding of your audience- Surveys are the prefect tools


for learning more about your audience, whether they’re your employees,
customers, or subscribers.

 Flexible- Surveys can be administered in many modes, including online


surveys, email surveys, social media surveys, paper surveys, mobile
surveys, telephone surveys, and face-to-face interview surveys.

 Evoke discussion- Communicate with your respondents about your


survey topic. This allows you to dig deeper into survey and can incite
topics related to your survey within a broader perspective.
Process we used in carrying out this survey!

How we carried out the survey

-To carry out the survey we decided to use an app called Survey Monkey and
created it therefore the students Form Four (4) students at El Dorado West
Secondary School can have access to the survey.

We sent out 50 surveys and received 48 completed surveys also there is a total
of nine (9) questions on our survey.

Questions asked on the survey includes:

 What is your gender?


 What region do you reside in?
 What device did you use mainly to access online school?
 How you acquire a device?
 Rate your level of satisfaction with using a device for online classes.
 What is your preference for learning?
 Did you have to share your device during the online classes period?
 How difficult or easy was it to connect to the internet to access your
online schooling?
 How difficult or easy was it to use a device for online schooling?
Findings & Analysis

Q1: What is your gender?

As Table 1 and Figure 1 show of the 48 respondents, approximately 56% were


female while approximately 35% were male fourth form students, and 6%
preferred not to identify.
Q2: What region do you reside in?

44% of respondents reside in Tunapuna/Piarco, 33% in Arima, 6% in Port-of-


Spain and 4% in Chaguanas.
Q3: What device did you use mainly to access online school?

58% of respondents used a laptop pc, 17% used a desktop pc while 15% used an
android phone for online learning.

48% of respondents already had their devices at hand while 38% had to
purchase their devices. Only 10% were given devices from the M.O.E.

44% of respondents had neutral feelings about using their devices, while 27%
were satisfied with it. Only 21% were very satisfied with the usage of it and 6%
were dissatisfied.

60% of Respondents found mixed classes to be their preference rather than


strictly face to face which 27% of Respondents preferred. Only 13% of
Respondents found that it does not matter.

94% of Respondents had their own devices at hand while only 4% had to share
their devices with siblings who were also attending online classes.

38% of Respondents found it Neither Easy nor Difficult to connect to the


internet during online learning while 27% found it Easy and 23% found it Very
Easy. Only 10% of Respondents found this to be Difficult.

29% of Respondents found their device Somewhat easy to use while 19% of
Respondents found it Neither easy nor difficult to use. 17% of Respondents
both found it Easy and Somewhat Difficult.
