SCRIPTURES
CONFESSIONS
Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be
ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me (Psalm 25:1-2).
The LORD shall fight for me, and I will hold my peace (Exodus 14:14).
EXHORTATION
The issue of mockery and mockers is a serious one that cannot be overlooked
or glossed over just like that. A child of God should not be mocked—irrespective
of the situation or circumstance. It is a dangerous thing indeed to mock a child
of God; and even much more suicidal is it to mock a messenger of God! Beloved,
it is godly wisdom that you don’t join others in mocking or planning evil against
the people of God. We will do well to learn this lesson now. Let’s take a look at
this passage of Scripture in 2 Chronicles 36:14-16:
14
Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much
after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD
which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

15 And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up
betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his
dwelling place:
16
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and
misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till
there was no remedy.
The wrath of God will rise up against the mockers till there is no remedy. Be that as it
may, let me here offer this little piece of advice: Never ever position yourself for the
wrath of God by mocking others. Be wise! And if you have ever been a victim of mockery
in times past, I pray for you that in that selfsame area where you have been mocked,
you shall be celebrated, in the name of Jesus. God’s anger will rise against your
mockers; anything, anyone, or any group mocking your destiny shall be openly
disgraced, in the name of Jesus. God shall take the glory in and for your life. Amen.

Ishmael, son of Hagar the Egyptian, mocked Sarah and was sent away with his mother
from Abraham’s household. You see, beloved, God does not take it lightly when His
children are mocked.
Goliath underestimated and belittled David—which was tantamount to mockery. But God
fought for David and Israel.
A Gileadite, his siblings thrust him out of the family’s inheritance, claiming that he was a
bastard (son of a harlot). But in the process of time, he became a deliverer, not only for
his family, but for the entire nation of Israel.

Some little children met him on the way and mocked him, calling him a bald-headed
man. The consequence: sudden death for those children!

Lodebar. But God opened the book of remembrance to him and he was restored to the
position of royalty where he truly belonged.

It became a case of “If we had known, we wouldn’t have crucified the King of Glory!”
As a king, he mocked God and was even equated with God by his people! He shared
God’s glory with Him! But right there and then; he was smitten by an angel and eaten
up alive by worms!
Nehemiah 4:3-5, 11
To distract you
To make you give up too soon; because they know if they allow you to continue, you
will succeed at the end.
To make you stop what will lead you to success (But don’t listen to them; keep doing
the good work!)
To make you doubt your ability! (But know this: You are competent. There is
something God has deposited in you that is not in any other person. You are simply
unique in every way, unlike none other!)
To make you feel that your God is powerless. (But believe this: Your God, our God is
a great God!)
Beloved, the Lord God Almighty is set to deliver you from the mockery of: English
Family strongholds
Denial of rights
Financial bankruptcy
Hear this: Their mockery of you, is only going to help in announcing your glory by a
sevenfold increase! God will disappoint your mockers so much so that their hands will
not be able to perform their wicked enterprise in your life, in the name of Jesus.
Job 5:12
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform
their enterprise.
36. Travail in fervent, prevailing prayer – Luke 19:11-27; Proverbs 29:18; James
5:16b
37. Be thankful – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 English
You will triumph over your mockers, all of them, in Jesus’ name. But you will do well to
take this to heart: The best form of revenge is massive success. So, maintain your
focus and don’t be distracted—least of all by the mockers. Give your occupation all that
it will take and be committed with total consuming passion. And be prayerful.
