Location: Located in the Middle East, bordering the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden,

Socotra Island and Archipelago; Mahri is still widely spoken in eastern Yemen.

Disputes: Saudi Arabia has reinforced its concrete-filled security barrier along
sections of the fully demarcated border with Yemen to stem illegal cross-border
activities, by 2015 Yemen had plunged into civil war and a grave humanitarian
crisis, exacerbated by the presence of the al-Qaeda and Islamic State jihadist
groups. Also, in the environmental area, there is limited natural freshwater
resources, inadequate supplies of potable water, overgrazing, soil erosion and,
desertification.
