Counter-Drone Security Company Fortem Technologies, Inc.
Description
Toshiba Corporation announced that Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation, the Toshiba Group company
specializing in the global infrastructure business (hereinafter Toshiba), has entered into a strategic business alliance with Fortem
Technologies, Inc. (hereafter Fortem), and invested 15 million USD in the company. Fortem is a technology leader in counter-drone
security and Toshiba, through the alliance, aims to expand its radar-based security solutions business. Based in Utah, US, Fortem is
a drone security company that has grown rapidly in recent years by supplying leading counter-drone systems, notably highly accurate
small drone detection radars that are easily installed, and autonomous drones that can capture rogue drones in a net. Toshiba has
already commercialized a drone detection system that plots incoming direction and altitude from radio waves emitted by the drone in
flight. Toshiba is also strengthening its drone security business through research and development of related products. The alliance
will integrate Toshiba and Fortem’s highly complementary systems to realize more effective, multi-layered counter-drone solutions
and services, and expand sales in Japan and the US, and in promising overseas markets, including those of Asia, Europe, the Middle
East, with mutual access to each other’s sales network.

Apple announced over 110 of its manufacturing partners around the world are moving to 100 percent renewable energy for
their Apple production, with nearly 8 gigawatts of planned clean energy set to come online. Once completed, these
commitments will avoid over 15 million metric tons of CO2e annually — the equivalent of taking more than 3.4 million cars
off the road each year. Additionally, Apple is investing directly in renewable energy projects to cover a portion of upstream
emissions, as well as a major energy storage project in California to pilot new solutions for renewable infrastructure. the
company unveiled its plan to become carbon neutral across its entire business, manufacturing supply chain, and product life
cycle by 2030. Since that announcement, Apple has significantly increased the number of its suppliers that are transitioning
to renewable energy. Apple is already carbon neutral today for its global corporate operations, and this new commitment
means that by 2030, every Apple device sold will have net zero climate impact. The company recently shared new details
about its $4.7 billion spend in Green Bonds to support environmental projects around the world.

Carbon Neutrality Targets for Its Global Operations by 2030
Description
Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, announced it has joined RE100, a global initiative bringing together the world’s most
influential businesses that entails the commitment of 100% renewable energy use and carbon neutrality in their global operations. With the
aforementioned pledge, Delta becomes the first high-tech company in Taiwan to target the RE100 goal by 2030. Delta implemented Science Based
Targets (SBTs) in 2017, committing to a reduction in carbon intensity by 56.6% by 2025. In 2020, its carbon intensity dropped by more than 32% and
renewable energy usage rate is expected to cover about 45% of its total electricity consumption. Delta’s board of directors and ESG committee have
also set an internal carbon price of US$300 per metric ton in 2021 for its global operations to further encourage lower carbon emissions. That carbon
fee will fund internal energy conservation projects and the procurement of renewable energy. These initiatives underscore Delta’s continuous
contributions towards carbon neutrality, a pillar of sustainable development. As Delta promises to be ahead of the industry's renewable energy goals, it
needs to overcome the challenges of different countries' development of renewable energy and supporting regulations as the Company operations are
spread in all five continents. Thus, it will focus on its own energy conservation, the use of self-generated solar energy as well as self-contained power
plants. At the same time, it evaluates the transaction maturity of the local green power markets, and is also considering Power Purchase Agreements
(PPA) and Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) to achieve the RE100 target.

Toshiba (Japan) Carbon Recycling Technology Realizes World’s Highest CO2 IT Shades

Conversion Speed and Achieves Decarbonization in a Limited Space
Description
Toshiba Corporation has developed the world’s most efficient electrocatalyst technology*1 for converting carbon dioxide into
carbon monoxide, a raw material for fuel and chemicals. The electrocatalyst has an installation area about the size of a C5
envelope, operates at room temperature, and can process up to a ton of CO2 a year. This dramatic improvement in processing
speed and conversion rate was achieved with a proprietary technology for stacking CO2 electrocatalyst electrodes. Previous
attempts to stack electrolytic cells only slowed the processing speed. Toshiba’s proprietary stacking technology eliminates
such lower speeds, and dramatically improves CO2 conversion rate. Since this new approach increases processing speed per
unit of area, it can be applied to locations with space limitations. For example, an incineration plant*2 that releases 200 tons
of CO2 a day would require an installation area of 2,000m2, roughly the area of 5 basketball courts. Tests to date also indicate
that the stack can be scaled up, a major factor for bringing it much closer to commercialization. Toshiba will present the
details of this technology at the 88th Meeting of the Electrochemical Society of Japan held online from March 22-24, 2021.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) officially announced on March 15 the list of the first batch of global lighthouse factories in 2021.
This time only 15 factories in the world were selected. Among them, Hon Hai was selected after the Shenzhen park in 2019. And once
again selected the WEF lighthouse factory with the Chengdu campus. As one of the few companies with two WEF-certified
lighthouse factories, Hon Hai once again verified its leading position in global technology manufacturing services with its strength.
This award also represents the recognition of the group's promotion of F2.0 digital transformation. The "Lighthouse" project was
promoted by the cooperation between the World Economic Forum and McKinsey. It aims to select a leading company that is a global
leader in the application and integration of cutting-edge technologies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Since 2018, only 69
factories in the world have won this honor. This year’s World Economic Forum’s selection of Chengdu Park’s reasons for selection
