My name is Fatin Suhailah binti Zairus Effendi and it is my

biggest pleasure to be your emcee this evening.

7:50PM -Opening speech by We appreciate you taking time off your busy schedules to
Emcee join us today. We hope you will find the program we have
lined-up for you to be fruitful and engaging. I hope
everyone is seated comfortably and may this event be
smooth sailing throughout this evening, In Syaa Allah.

In this captivating evening, we shall witness the

collaboration of Actuarial Science Club with University
of Essex, UK.

Office to give a little Introduction to the University of Essex.

8:15PM -Presentation by Dr Next, I am honored to introduce our keynote speaker, Dr

Jackie Jackie Wong. He is currently a lecturer in the Department
of Mathematical Sciences from University of Essex. On top
of that , he is also a Senior Actuarial Associate of AIA
Hong Kong and Macau since 2019 and was an Actuarial
Assistant of FWD Insurance in the year 2017.

to give the keynote speech about the Lee Carter Modelling.

Actuarial Science at the University of Essex.

9:20PM Sharing Session by Moving right along, let us enjoy a sharing session by an
Alumni & Current Essex Actuarial Science current student, Miss Nurul
Student Afiqah. She is a transferred student from UiTM Perak
Branch Tapah Campus and is currently in 3 rd Year of
Degree in University of Essex. To those who still
remembers, she is also a Former Vice President of
Actuarial Science Club of our campus. Unfortunately, Miss
Nurul Afiqah couldn’t attend our event today, so she has
prepared a video beforehand to share her experience in
Essex and leadership skills especially as one of the
committees in the Actuarial Science Society.

For our next speaker, I would like to introduce Miss

Vanessa Yeo, an Essex Actuarial Science alumni. Miss
Vanessa Yeo is currently an Actuarial Analyst at Lloyds
Banking Group. During her days in Essex, she was part of
 the Peer Assisted Learning Maths support team and was
also the President of the Maths Society.

Please welcome, Miss Vanessa Yeo, to share her

placement related experience.
