Activity 2

1. being able to be familiar to use theses given application such as Microsoft office and excel and PowerPoint give’s
college students a wide variety oof skill that would help them to be competitive in terms of computer skill. for
example, on using Microsoft word, if you are proficient in using the application this will give you advantage in
making reports and paper works and also speed up your working time to finish. Next one is excel spreadsheet
preparation in this application being able to understand how to use the spreadsheet will give you a big advantage
spreadsheet is commonly used for arithmetic and other computations and accounting purposes .and for the power
point, power point is a form of visual presentation of the given work such as reports, discussion and other kinds of
presentation. Being fluent to make a power point presentation give students a great advantage specially to be
competitive not only at school but also for the selected field of expertise/career.

2. Websites in the internet. Websites offers different types of application ads and so on. It may be a source of facts
or information, offers different games, it also has social networking site just like Facebook, twitter and Instagram
that will help connect people, blogging sites, free software’s, downloadable tools and etc.

3.Computer shops are located around schools, A learner can best use computer resources as they may be available in
schools or at home by using them as a source of information, for research, assignments and article browsing.
Students may do internet surfing to explore and widen his/her knowledge about certain things. Nowadays most of
the data are already in the internet, Learner can make this an opportunity to gain more knowledge not only for the
present activity and also for future references of the things a learner wants to discover. The internet offers
educational websites that are very useful for students learning.

Reflection:

A.What are your ideas about students spending off school time playing computer games in computer cafes?

From my perspective, students spending lot more time in playing computer games rather than going to school are
most likely to drop out of school. because of spending too much time, they are unable to learn and attend school or
classes. Computer games are very addicting specially to students around high school to college. students spend more
time to this kind of competitive entertainment, due to lack of self-discipline of students they are coming less
productive in school and fail to have interest in school.

B. While Educational Technology 2 is not about teaching computer skills, do you believe adequate hands-on
computer skills are necessary to put technology integration into practice? Provide reasons.

 My answer is yes, because a student must know the basic computer skills in order for him to integrate technology
into practice. If a student doesn't know the basic skills in computer like putting on the CPU or putting on the monitor
how can he start a certain task he wants to do. Therefore, it would be really hard for a student to operate in a
computer without a little or basic knowledge of it.

Having the hands-on skill is having advantage If you don't practice your knowledge it will be useless. We must
know about the basic computer skills first to know better and it can easily understand when it goes to hand-on. It’s
like having mastery which helps us to work faster.
