Rizal in his letter to father pastel, explain and relate this wisdom to present and future of Filipino people. He proposed that the Filipino masses, who had been kept in ignorance by colonial powers and especially the friars, be enlightened through scientific education liberated of religious orders' ideology, and that the masses be awakened to their identity as thinking human beings. “In my opinion self-esteem is the greatest good that God has endowed man with for his perfection and purity saving him from many unworthy and base acts when he forgets the precepts he had learned or had been inculcated in him.” -Self-respect, among peoples and among states, is a way or instrument for man’s perfection. With regard to self-esteem, Filipino’s are being discriminated and voices of people are not being heard. In this present times, Filipinos are now able to acknowledge their self-esteem and identity, wherein we are now able to express our feelings and thoughts, and have our freedom to do what we want to do in our life. Filipino people should have to develop a sense of self-knowledge and self-confidence because with our collective self-knowledge and confidence, we would reach our highest potential and achieve nation’ success. We must all make effort to pave the way for Filipinos to embark on their journey of self-discovery. "All religions pretend to hold the truth. What religions do I say? Each man, the most ignorant, the most giddy pretends to be right." Based from my understanding, there is no religion that is superior to other religions. All religions have the same meaning and purpose. It is on the people how they believe and which religion they want. There is no ignorant man, and everyone is intelligent to choose their religion where they think they are comfortable with. Filipino people would have a better future if no one will take advantage to others, no one will establish superiority over others and everyone will be equal. We all deserve the same rights and acceptance, No matter what color your skin is, what religion you practice, what things you believe in, or what you have and don’t have.
