LESSON 1: LEARNING RESOURCE MAPS FOR DISTANCE LEARNING

Activity 1

The DepEd Memorandum on Suggested Strategies in Implementing LDMs for SY 2020-2021


included the Learning Resources (LR) Map as a guide in selecting the appropriate Distance LDM to
be implemented in Schools/Divisions. Study this map and answer the following questions in your
Study Notebook:

1. Based on the map, what resources should you have in order to implement the LDM adopted by
your School/Division?

 In Deped City of San Fernando we are adopted all the delivery modalities like; online learning,
distance learning such as TV/radio based and modular; and blended learning.

 In order to achieve this we make DLPs Module; we print the DLP’s and distribute them to the
learners through their parents. Our division Supervisors and non-teaching personnel
conducted series of programs that is TV and Radio Based Learning that suitable for every
topic of learning competencies in all grade levels.

2. Do you have the complete resources for the Distance LDM needed in class? If the LRs are not
complete or not available, what steps will you take to make these available? What are your
options to substitute these missing LRs?

 In our Division we made SIPACKs composed of DLPs that are self-learning module, we made
also remedial activity sheets as an intervention plan for those learners who have difficulty
understanding the topic or lessons or because of the adjustment period in the new normal.

3. What support will you need to maximize the use of the two DepEd-sanctioned LR Portals?
From whom can you get this support?

 Using the DepEd LR we can easily find and obtain our need SLM, ADM and LAS. But before
we can open the portal we need to have an internet access and permission of the
administrator from our ICT Coordinator designated as the admin of the portal.

4. Based on your evaluation of the materials, are they appropriate to the level and characteristics
of learners? Are there learners who might be disadvantaged by the materials (based on
reading ability, level of learning independence, level of household support, distance)? What
adjustments will you make in terms of the LRs?

 The LR materials are quite appropriate to all grade levels but the disadvantage of the LR is for
those learners or teachers that has no access on the internet or have a fixed internet. How can
they be able to download the materials if they don’t have an access on the internet.

 . I believe that we should consider all the level of understanding of our learners so that none of
them will be left behind. I think for the adjustment, as a teacher I can modify the LRs just to be
able to fit on the learners level of understanding

Activity 2

can you provide to your colleagues and what support can you get from them in terms of LRs? Take

Insights:

 I firmly believe that in this time collaboration with the group is really needed.

 Two heads are better than one.

 Sharing of knowledge and ideas are really important for the team to come up to one
output.

LESSON 2: ACCESSING LEARNING RESOURCES FROM DepEd PORTALS

Activity 1

Establish access to the following portals:

1. LRMDS Portal.

Ensure that you have an LRMDS Portal Account. If you have not registered yet, follow the LR
Portal User Guide to guide you in your registration process. Alternatively, seek assistance from
any of your colleagues or your IT personnel in your school, district, or division. You may also
coordinate with your LAC Leader and/or Coach. To understand the portal better, you may
watch the LR Portal Video Tutorial located in the resources of this Course.

2. DepEd Commons.

Ensure that you have access to DepEd Commons. Refer to Memorandum on DepEd
Commons dated March 17, 2020.

Explore the Portals.

In your Study Notebook, answer the following questions:

1. Given the LDM adopted in your School, how can the two DepEd portals respond to your LR
needs and those of your learners’? How do they complement the LRs that you already
have?

 Since we adopted blended learning, the two DepEd portals will help a lot not only for the
learners but with the teachers also. Those who have fixed internet can access DepEd
Common. Students in all Grade levels may answer the activities in that portal.

 For LR portal, we can download free and aligned MELCs learning resources or
materials such as modules, activity sheets and lectures to ease the burden of the
teachers.

2. What are the challenges in accessing the LRs in the portals both for you and your learners?
How will you overcome these challenges?

 Internet connection is the main concern in accessing the portal. Teachers and learners
who has a connection in the internet, may encounter the main problem that is an
unstable connection.

 Apart from the internet connection problem, another challenge to access the LR portal
are gadgets such as computer / laptop, smartphones, ipad / tablet or any gadgets that
can be able to access the portal. Not all teachers and learners ay able to buy good and
quality gadgets.

 I simply overcome this challenges by making an intervention plan/plan B.

3. What support will you need to be able to maximize the use of the LR Portals? From whom
can you get this support?

 I think the support that I and my fellow teachers needed to maximize the use of LR
portals is proper guidance from our ICT Coordinator who is knowledgeable in the LR
portal.

 She can give us technical assistance on how to access the portal as well as how to
manage the portal.

 Budget or allowance for the internet access is also one of the support that we need for
us to access the portal and I think we need also good and quality of gadgets.

Insights:

 Persistence in helping and supporting a each other in terms of LRs, will help a member
become also a persistent and willing to learn individual.

 Collaborative effort of the team will help in achieving their goals.

Activity 1

Study the LR Rapid Assessment Tool. Download an LR from either DepEd Commons or LRMDS
Portal and assess the material using the tool.

4. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for your lesson and

 This exercise helped me a lot. I can be able to determine the resources that is suited to
my learners’ needs because all the resources are updated and MELC based for the new
normal school year 2020-2021.

 DepEd prescribe LRs are reliable and aligned in the basic requirement needed
for choosing LRs while non DepEd LRs sometimes deviate from the requirement
of standard LRs.

2. Based on the results of the Assessment Tool, what improvements do the materials — both
from DepEd and Non-DepEd portals — still need?

 I think if the materials are came from or downloaded from the DepEd portal there
is no need for revisions because before it uploaded to the portal all the resources
are undergoes thorough quality assurance from the experts like DepEd
Secretary, Regional Supervisors, Division Supervisors and Superintendents.

 Non DepEd resources or materials of course need to be examine first and must
be aligned to the assessment tool given by the DepEd

3. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for your lesson and
your learners?

 This exercise helped me to choose the right resources or materials that I think can be
able to attend the learning process of my students.

Insights:

 It is important for teachers to have the skills to create a way; to create materials for their
students. It is important that a teacher is resourceful and innovative. There is a plan for the
development of his/her students
