INDONESIA CORROSION WEEK 2018

I. ABOUT US INDOCOR

INDOCOR is a corrosion expert organization of associations in Indonesia. Formed in

1967 because corrosion is a major problems in Indonesia industry. Basically, INDOCOR
organization aims to support the development of Indonesia. INDOCOR has conducted
national and International conferences with NACE. INDOCOR also been working with
interational organizations NACE INDOCOR ITS SC is a subsidiary organizations or student
chapter of INDOCOR consist of ITS students, who carry out activities to increase corrosion
insight and control by conducting workshops, seminars, guest lectures, and so on. INDOCOR
ITS SC also provide information certification and paper competition about corrosion.
INDOCOR ITS SC Board of Committee consist of 35 person and over 300 person of member
around ITS, and PPNS.
II.BACKGROUND

Nowadays, corrosion is a major problem in industry, corrosion of metal in the

presence of water as a common problem across many industries. Due to that fact, water
makes corrosion a pervasive issue across the industry. Therefore, knowledge and skill to
control the corrosion is required in industry. Young engineer and scientist will take part in the
industries someday. A well-educated engineer will be beneficial for its country in helping
them create a brand new and innovation on how to make a better corrosion prevention system
and method. Indonesia Corrosion Week aim to provide platform to motivate student in
innovating and using their creativity concerning corrosion and it prevention method, Through
Indonesia Corrosion Week we also provide students on how to prepare them to face the
working environment.
III.OBJECTIVES

i. To motivate student in innovating and using their creativity concerning corrosion risk
and cost.
ii. Giving knowledge about the causes, prevention, and solution of corrosion in industries.
iii. Prepare young engineer and scientist to face working industries and job recrutment

VII.1.Career Building Workshop

Place : ITS

Targets : Active Student and Fresh Graduate
Description: Career Building Workshop is a training program for undergraduate students
to know, and prepare on the job or scholarship recruitment. This training will invite some
experienced and competent speakers to present and do some simulation

VII.2.Corrosion Workshop
Place : ITS

Description: Corrosion workshop is a corrosion engineering based workshop which
contains course and simulation of corrosion control in oil and gas industries using
cathodic protection methods. The course will be represent by two speakers which are
experts in this field of engineering. Beside courses, participants will be given a simulation
that represents the actual methodologies used at the industries.

Description: National Corrosion Conference is a conference that discusses issues of
corrosion in industry, the dangers, and its mitigation. The output of this conference is
participant’s solutions of corrosion problems.
