CLASSROOM POLICIES

1. Turn on your cameras. Otherwise, you will be penalized.


2. There will be a bonus for perfect attendance.
3. Classes will be recorded.
4. Signal Number 2 = Automatic Cancellation of Classes, but homework will be given.
5. There will be a quiz at the beginning of each session.
6. Honesty and integrity are integral components of the academic process.
7. Observe proper decorum among peers in all activities.
8. Attendance will always be checked. Do not exceed the maximum allowable total
absences
9. Class announcements will be made via telegram.
10. Attentiveness and active participation are critical to successful learning.
11. The use of mobile phones and other electronic devices is not allowed during class
hours unless necessary or upon the teacher’s approval.
12. Please follow the chart for acceptable absences. Reasons not given in this chart will
be subject to the professor’s discretion:

1. Exam:
o Quizzes will be done electronically
o MIDTERMS: 50% Take home (via google forms) and 50% Handwritten – via
zoom

o Midterms (including quizzes): Handwritten
o Finals (including quizzes): Typewritten
o Answers to all exams and quizzes must follow the ALAC format.

2. For the take-home midterms and finals, even though discussion is allowed,
plagiarism of the answers of your classmate or that of secondary sources will
warrant the following:
o A 0% for that exam for the one who plagiarized
o A 0% for that exam for the one who allowed his work to be copied.
o Disqualification from all bonuses.
3. For the live exam via zoom:
o You are not allowed to copy-paste anything from primary or secondary
sources. All answers in your exam must be written in your own words.
o You may not consult any sources.
o Violation of the aforementioned rules will warrant an automatic failure for
that exam.
o You are not allowed to turn off your camera or be away from the purview of
your camera. Every minute after an aggregate of 3 minutes of being off-cam
will warrant a penalty of 3 points for every minute. The same rule applies if
you are late.

4. If a student is absent, he or she will be given the following penalty, unless he or she
avails of the bonus activity:
o 0% for the quiz;
o 60% for recitation on that day.
5. A student may avail of a bonus activity to make up for his/her absence. The
instructions are as follows:
o If you missed a class that discussed cases, you need to submit
HANDWRITTEN DIGESTS.
o If you missed a class wherein we discussed articles, you would need to
submit HANDWRITTEN NOTES covering those topics (you must answer the
guide questions) OR COPY THE ARTICLES that you missed by HAND.
o DEADLINE: Three weeks after his/her absence.
6. By the end of the semester, if the class performs well as a whole, the professor can
opt to give a bonus activity. The criteria will be as follows:
o Class participation
o Number of Absences
o Incidents of cheating or violation of class policies.
7. The class may opt to make a reviewer and pass it to the professor at least one week
before midterms/finals. At the end of the semester, the professor may give bonus
points to the whole class by reason of such reviewer.
8. Before being allowed to take all forms of exams, students must submit a signed
