2. Answer the following problems (to be submitted individually)


a. Determine the maximum deflection in a simply supported beam of length L carrying a
concentrated load P at midspan.

b. A simply supported beam carries two symmetrically placed concentrated loads. Compute
the maximum deflection using Double Integration Method. Assume EI is constant.
