At the start of the school year 2012-2013, NNHS had implemented an
innovative solution to meet the growing population of the school. Dubbed
as M-ISOS (Modified in school, out school), this system is another alternative
solution in handling extra large classes which consisted of an average of 80-
90 students per class.
The program aims to build a friendly learning environment to the
students as well as the teacher by reducing the number of students inside the
classroom to 45. Under this program the number of days the students will
attend their respective classes will range from 2-3 days a week compared
to regular scheme of 5 days. The schedule consists of (MW*F and TTH*F)
and the number of section will be doubled to comply with the program.
On the other hand the number of hours per subject will be extended in
accordance with the standard of Kto12. To be able to compensate with the
lost times that they’re not in school, students were given integrative learning
modules to be done at home and monitored and checked by teachers.
Tests & Feedback mechanisms were used to ensure that learners comply
with the requirements to further strengthen the program it was combined
with M-CART, another innovative delivery system of the school which was
implemented in June 2011. Eugenio Letada III

NNHS celebrates National Reading Month
NNHS celebrated the annual National Reading Month, last November with an array of
activities to promote the love for ‘reading’.
The fourth year students from EC administered a storytelling activities to Bagumbayan
Elementary School (BES) pupils from November 5-9. Dubbed “Kwentong may Kwenta”, the IV-
EC students, headed by Mrs. Mona Lisa F. Adriano read interesting stories to school children
of the BES.
Other activities were conducted by the NNHS English Teachers during the month-long
celebration were “Book sa Sulok” wherein teachers provided reading corners to encourage
students to spare their free time on reading while inside the campus; The “Basa Pasa”, a
whole school approach on reading was also conducted, which was headed by Mr. Marco D.
Meduranda; “Hindi ka Nag-iisa”, an oratorical contest which was participated by selected
students from all year levels; the “Bookworm Strom” and the Quiz Bee, for all year levels.
This event is in support of the ten-point Education agenda of the Aquino administration, to
promote the Every child a Reader Program (ECARP) and to commemorate the Birth anniversary
of the late senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Sr., an ardent reader himself, who was born on
November 27, 1932. With Ninoy as an inspiration, this practical and creative tool to improve
literacy is as much about reading as it is about hope as reiterated on the writing of and about

Internet Access:
Danger to Students?
by Eugenio R. Letada III

Students greatly familiarized the term “Internet”. Nowadays, internet
is becoming a requirement of students. Browsing your net can answer your
academic and professional needs. Based on the “Study on internet access
and use by Filipino school children” by the Asian Institute of Journalism
and Communication, almost three-fourths or 74 percent of Filipino School
children have access to the internet.
The Internet is the largest set of computer networks that use the
Internet Protocol. The invention and development of the Internet was the
biggest discovery by mankind in the 20th century that led to a revolution.
Today, the Internet is used by more than 50% of the world population as its
applications are found in nearly every fields of life: be it communication,
knowledge, news, shopping, marketing, entertainment, education, etc. So
how exactly does the Internet technology benefit students for education?
Let us take a look at it in detail. (Pandit, 2010)
According to the AIJC study, the high level of computer illiteracy should
be a priority concern since “competitiveness” and “survival” of children in
today’s Knowledge Society is greatly dependent on digital literacy. Access
and appropriate use of the Internet can provide children a good head start in
child development especially if they are exposed to child-friendly websites.
The Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication states that

Just a Smile
By Catherine Borja
Love Empowers Beauty Just a smile can bring you near to me
By Amor Advincula
Your smile receiver is all I want to be
You and I … Again It’s been a long time since we first met
Meeting someone like you, all was set
I asked myself if I will ever see,
See you when you’re smiling back at me.
by Merlyn Furo Your smile can change many things,
You just captured my heart, like a camera
I never think that was like scripted cinema When there’s sadness, happiness it brings.
Here we are staring at the sky Just a smile and the sparks suddenly fly,
You give me feeling of wanting to fly. Being a child is no more
Since I met you before End of my miseries and battle cries.
I feel your hands fitted with mine When there are times that I’m waiting in vain,
As we watch the blue moonlight shine. On that very first day
There’s no word I could say And had no one else but myself to blame,
As we sit in this cold green field You hold me tight and never let me go,
With your arms around I got shield. Is it love that I’m feeling?
Or is it just that I’m dreaming? You just smile and rainbow starts to show.
From the times that we’ve taken to let go Enchanted words and fairytales I want to find,
From the pains that made both of us low. You’re not only that pretty,
But a man with strong personality In your smile, there’s such places I can’t hide,
Now we can say our past have passed So now for me, there’s just one thing to do,
It’s a new beginning we’re having to last. I realized something unexplainable
Passionate love continues to fall I thank the almighty Lord,
After trying to forget what’s us back then ‘coz I found someone like you.
It’s nice to see You and I together again. Can’t fight this unforeseen feeling
The best appetizer I am eating Just a smile can make the river smoothly flow,
But one thing made my nature ruined With your smile the wind can gently blow.
Knowing your core has got what it needs There can be a big change for a while,
I felt weedy as the days passed It happens even if you bring is just a smile.

My Four Friends But still, my affection for you will last

I made myself busy
By Chris Justine Arquilita Without thinking of you daily
I persevered to be on top
Four Years, I spend here in school
I have met Four girls, not quite cool
Trying for this madness to stop My Bestfriend
But I can’t fight this feeling byLouella Marie D. Ladaran
Not like those who cause much trouble My heart keeps on you calling
Four girls that made my life jumble If only I could take my heart away In everyday that I live
True friends unlike leaves everywhere To escape feeling the same way My beloved bestfriend is always there
But a diamond precious, rare Now the miles stretched out behind me Always there to help in times of adversity
Like a four leaf clover, one of a kind I can’t take you from my mind this easy When I was frustrated in sadness,
Lucky to have but hard to find And in time I know that we’ll both see Just call her and she’ll be there
I thank God for giving me four I’m the one for you and you’re the one for me To listen and to comfort you.
Although I beg one to live for I believe God has the best design A person who always understands you,
And nothing I can ask for more Just wait for that right time A person who can lean on,
Loving these Girls once and for all For now, live to the fullest A person who will never ever leave your side.
Someday, we will pass His test No matter what
Embosom our missions For most ups and downs
Set aside each other’s affection She’ll always be there

I want my one of a kind bestfriend
Till the end of time.
Every Person, Every Being,
Has his own yearning
to be on Top, to be acclaimed, CONNECTED
And stop the cause of their own bleeding. by Edlie Joshua Vargas and James Edillo
But certainly man cannot live alone,
He has his company of his own, Knowing You, gave me a clue,
A company which makes him strong, That we might be stuck by glue,
And are so called "Jetpacks" Feeling cold? Feeling blue?
That's just a sign of me Missing You.
My Favorite Jacket
that carries him away through the song. by Merlyn Furo
Surely, People has his own and indefinite ways, We cannot say knowing ourselves are steps of Fate,
He thinks a lot and avoid mistakes, I can recall the things happened through the gate, Standing here beside my love
But for a Certain event called "Fate" Whispering slowly as I Heard words create: As we watch raindrops fall from above.
They encounter others which causes them to CHANGE. "I'll Never Leave You" - Oppa said. It’s a cold rainy December night
Eventhough man is described to be a book, We're Brothers not in Blood. But you held me in your arms so tight.
We we're once Naked and Nude, But in Heart that full of Love.
We cannot decide our own page, I'm not a Hero my Little Bro. You look at me with sincerity
Nor where to go between the two gates. But I'm a Brother, that will never let you go. While your hands fit mine perfectly.
Knowing God, and preaching for His Name, Being with you Let me thrilled, As if they’re made for each one
May be Odd and be like Insane, Happiness and Joy had me filled, The space I have for the best man.
But all I Know is a certain thing: To You, My Brother I owe you much, You start to say those words softly
"If you follow Him and turn from your ways, Thanks to You it's not the Last. And slowly holding my heart tightly.
All shall be added unto you and You will be saved." Getting to know you might be so fast, As if it’s you that is really meant
Indeed "Jetpacks" are used by us human beings, I know that things ain't meant to last, That’s why you and I have met.
To be lifted high in the air where we breathe in. My feelings inside might let me blast, Your embrace that is so warm
Let us not Neglect the World, God has let us Live in. This I tell You, I'll Make it fast: "Enjoy life - This is a Must" I am sure with you there’s no harm.
For its a Matter of time before all of us could forget Being a Friend, Being a Brother, I love your hug that’s give me love
the "Jetpacks" whom helped us be here. You Ain't less and not no other, My favorite jacket the arms you have.
