1. What is classification?
 the action or process of classifying something according to shared qualities or
characteristics (google dictionary)
 systematic arrangement in groups or categories according to established criteria
(merriam dictionary)
 A data approach used to assign each unit in a population into a few categories.
 Classification aims to predict whether an individual or item we know very little about will
belong to one class or another (Richardson, Teeter, Terrell, 2019).
 Data Classification is the conscious choice to allocate a level of sensitivity to data as it is
being created, amended, enhanced, stored, or transmitted (Wright, 2008).

General steps
1.Identify the classes you wish to predict
2. Manually classify an existing set of records
3. Select a set of classification models
4. Divide your data into training and testing sets
5.Generate your model
6. Interpret the results and select the best model

2. Questions that can be answered by classification (Btw, ang pagkagets ko dito kay
predictive ang questions hahaha like maansweran ang question or maclassify ang
individuals/data based pa sa another data/characteristics hindi direct answer lng
pero not sure though)

3. Situations that will apply classification in life as a student.

1. CR - Labels
 In cr, traditionally there are only male or female. So, all males will only go to the
male cr while females will go to the female cr. However, today, there is what we
call all gender cr and that is a special case.
2. Notes/Folders/Envelopes - Subjects
 Sorting documents
Classification takes place in sorting notes because you are going to arrange it
according to what subject it belongs. So the category is the subject.
-
3. ClayGo in Caf - Designated bins
In this situation, there are three categories, the left over foods, the plates and the
fork and spoon, so the students should be able to classify correctly where to put the dishes for
the clean up crew to easily pick them up
4. Financial Decisions
 Knowing the range of allowance budget/money you have, it helps you
decide in spending your money, specifically, on the things you buy, food
you eat, modes of public transport you choose, and etc.
5. Passing a subject
 Knowing the characteristics of a student who passes a subject and a
student who fails a subject will help one realize which behaviors or
qualities to inculcate/imbibe/possess and which behaviors to avoid to
pass a subject.
6. Easier for things to find and/or recognize
 In Researching: When a person wants to find books or publications in the
library to gather information, it is easier for him to locate the book
because of identified classification of the book. It may be under the
reference, periodicals, filipiniana, general circulation, or reserved books
section.
 Going to a new place: Address of the place along with the landmarks will
aid a person in his or her way. Since streets are identified and transport
vehicles like jeepney have corresponding routes, he/she will most likely to
arrive at his/her destination.
