REACTION PAPER

Last August 13, 2019, we had a seminar held at PUP Tahanan ng Alumni, Sta. Mesa,

Manila. Our keynote speaker is Engr. Ericsson Valenzuela. The seminar has a theme of

“Industrial Processes: Enhancing Student’s Capabilities on Innovative Manufacturing and

Efficient Quality Control”. It was mainly focused on manufacturing processes and factors

affecting the processes. Technology plays a big role in manufacturing process as it helps ease

with the works and the overall process. Without adapting into current technology, it would be

difficult for companies to step up and be ahead of competitors. The manufacturing strategy is

also vital in improving the processes. It is the framework used to improve the competitiveness of

an organization. It comprises of designing, organizing, managing, and developing one’s

resources. Quality control is a familiar topic since it is included in one of our subjects- Total

Quality Management. It is a set of measures and procedures to follow in order to ensure that the

quality of a product is maintained and improved. Engr. Valenzuela also mentioned various types

of industries, materials commonly used in manufacturing, product variety.

The speaker, Engr. Valenzuela is very engaging to us. Although, the area seemed to be a

little small to be occupied by almost 250 students. The place is jam-packed so the students are

easily distracted by talking to each other and using their phones because they can’t be noticed

easily. Overall, the seminar is beneficial especially to our future careers. It could be applied to

almost everything. Hoping for more informative seminars like this.
