TASK 1- 1000 words

You are part of management team at CITY GROUP Management Consultants based in Canary
Wharf – London. City Group has recently recruited a number of new Graduate Trainees who have
no background in accounting and finance. Jones, one of the new trainees, approached you for
some explanation and understanding of the functions and the role of financial management.

Required:

Critically identify and analyse at least four (4) financial management decision functions/role and its
purposes to Jones who is novice in finance and accounting. 40 marks

CITY GROUP is planning to expand its operations to Brussels in Europe. Brexit, Covid-19 and
other factors will have a greater impact both positive and negative on City Group operations in
Brussels. You are part of the management team at CITY GROUP consultants assigned for this
task or operation.

Required:

Critically discuss the impact of Brexit, Covid-19 and other factors that will affect your operations
in Brussels.

(Please consider the following factors in your analysis; current UK economy, the financial markets
(Banks) and the money markets (London stock exchange). 50 marks
