Lesson #1 - Bowling Vocabulary

➔ Introduce Vocabulary w/ Techniques

◆ Rubber bowling ball, 3 pins per lane and practice bowling
◆ At home modifications - cardboard box, empty water bottles and rolled up
socks, stack pins in triangle shape and practice bowling
➔ Closing - review pretest

Lesson #2 - Bowling Form and Etiquette


➔ Explore Techniques/Technical Terms
➔ Practice form
◆ Footwork
◆ Release
◆ Grip/Hand Placement
➔ Modified Game - Form bowling from 3 ft, 5ft and so on
➔ Closing

Lesson #3 - Bowling Rules and Scoring


➔ Introduce Rules of the Game
◆ Examine etiquette of bowling game play
◆ Explain rules/penalties
➔ Modified Game - Add one more pin each frame at appropriate distance (at home
add one more water bottle per 2 rolls)
➔ Closing

Lesson #4 - Scoring
➔ Explain scoring by frame
➔ Review terminology and practice scoring
➔ Gameplay - with scoring practice
◆ Each bowler practices scoring before rotating to bowl

Lesson #5 - Game play/Post Test


➔ Students will divide into teams of 4, go to designated lane and begin bowling an
actual game
◆ Reminding students of etiquette and gameplay rules
◆ Practice scoring
◆ Review
● At home students will be the bowler AND scorekeeper as they bowl
each frame
➔ Students are given take-home post test to turn in either online or in-person
