Layout

◦ The magazine is full of content, it shows the many stories that are in the magazine so the reader
can have a preview of everything that is inside. It also shows the games and prizes you can win
the puff says “packed with puzzles and even more cash prizes” this is big and bold.

◦ The lady on the front is a skinny white women which is the stereotypical beauty type.

◦ Because the magazine is so busy it provides everyone with something they want, meaning this
magazine is aimed at verity of people with different lives.

Language Used

• The language used in the magazine is more unformal and it seems like a friend is talking to
you, which could be what a lot of people who need that.

• Because the language is simple this shows that the audience that it is aimed at is C2 and D
audience

Images used
◦ There are many images used, but there is no different representation used, everyone shown on
this magazine is white no other people are represented.

Typography

◦ The lettering is big and bold and will catch the readers attention

◦ The lettering used is sans-serif

◦ Some of the lettering used are in larger font and in a different colour, this makes them stand out
and makes it noticeable to the reader

◦ The website is a lot more spaced out than the magazine, it is a lot more easy to navigate and choose which
issue of magazine you wanted.
◦ On the task bar there are many different pages you could go to, Magazine, competitions, lifestyle, get in touch,
puzzles, newsletters and bingo there is a range of activities for everyone.
◦ There are also Ads shown on the website that might suit the type of readers
Language Used
◦ Like the magazine the language is unformal to suit the C2 and D audience. But the language used on the
website is a lot more brief, there are not many long sentences used at all.
Images Used
◦ Most images used on the website are of different issues of the magazines, but there is very little representation
of different people, nearly every front cover of the take a break magazine had a white skinny women on it.
Typography
◦ The lettering used is white on a red background so it stands out and is bold.
◦ The lettering is sans-serif
