 Ano nga ang Culminating Activity? Ano-ano ang mga gawain


at proyektong nakapaloob dito?
 Bago ko umpisahang talakayin ang nilalaman at kabuuan ng
Culminating Activities. Narito ang nilalaman o mga paksang
aking tatalakayin: (1) Aim of Work Immersion for SHS
learners, (2) Background of Culminating Activity for HUMSS
strand, (3) Possible outputs or performance tasks, and (4)
Sample templates and outputs.

2020-00085 Guidelines for Work Immersion
Implementation during Crisis Situation states that learning
should not stop even during crisis situations. While
limitations for learners and schools are recognized, the
Department should take a proactive stance in anticipating
and planning for various service delivery conditions. Work
Immersion (WI) aims to provide SHS learners with
opportunities: (1) to familiarize themselves with the
workplace; (2) to simulate employment; and (3) to apply
their competencies in areas of specialization/applied
subjects in authentic work environments. However, its
implementation must be flexible enough to fit the complex
setup and needs of learners, schools, and partner
institutions in the country.

Implementation during Crisis Situation na kahit nasa
panahon tayo ng pandemya, ang edukasyon ay hindi dapat
huminto o tumigil bagkus ay makagawa at makahanap ng
mga pamamaraan upang patuloy na matuto ang mga mag-
aaral. Dapat maisakatuparan pa rin ang mga programa at
proyekto tulad ng Work Immersion kung saan ito ay lubos
na kailangan ng mga mag-aaral at gagawin lamang ito sa
pamamaraang higit na makatutulong sa lahat higit sa ating
mga mag-aaral. Kung kaya nagkaroon at nagpalabas ang
Kagawaran ng Edukasyon ng isang memoranda na
nagsasaad ng mga pagbabago sa pagpapatupad ng Work
Immersion at isa na duon ang Culminating Activity para sa
mga mag-aaral sa ilalim ng HUMSS Strands.

 Background of Culminating Activity for HUMSS Strand.


Ano nga ba ito? The CULMINATING ACTIVITY is one of the
specialized subjects under the Academic Career Track and
HUMSS learning strand. Ito ay isang espesyal na
asignaturang ginawa para lamang sa mga mag-aaral sa
ilalim ng Academic Career Track at HUMSS Learning Strand.

 Subject Description. This course is designed to provide


students the opportunity to integrate their learning in the
different learning areas of the humanities and social
sciences through a creative culminating activity. It focuses
on the exhibitions/exhibits of authentic products and
performances as evidence of their learning in the
humanities and social sciences.

 Ito ay kurso na dinidensyo upang ang mga mag-aaral ay


mabigyan ng pagkakataong maipakita at maipamalas ang
lahat ng kanilang mga natutunan sa iba’t ibang asignatura
sa humanidades at agham panlipunan gamit ang kanilang
pagiging inobatibo at malikhain.

 Content Standards - The learners demonstrate an


understanding of key concepts, principles, and processes of
humanities and social sciences. Performance Standards -
The learners shall be able to produce a creative portfolio
that will integrate their learning in specialized learning
areas under humanities or social sciences.

 Content or Subject involve: (1) Introduction to World


Religions and Belief Systems (2) Discipline and Ideas in the
Applied Social Sciences (DIAS) (3) Creative Writing (4)
Creative Nonfiction (5) Discipline and Ideas in the Social
Sciences (6) Philippine Politics and Governance (7)
Megatrends and Critical Thinking in the 21st Century
Culture and (8) Community Engagement, Solidarity, and
Citizenship

 What are the possible outputs or performance tasks for this


subject? Students may be asked to demonstrate what they
have learned by participating in class activities that may
include the following: (1) Creating a resume and/or
curriculum vitae, (2) Writing reflection papers that will
encapsulate their learning in humanities and social
sciences, (3) Writing concept papers as alternative for
reflection papers that will summarize what the
project/webinar is all about, (4) Planning and conducting
webinars as alternative for e-portfolios, (5) Evaluating
insights from the observation and recommendations of
peers and/or teachers, (6) Show casing understanding of
key concepts, principles and processes through an
exhibition, and (7) Producing a creative portfolio that will
integrate their learning in specialized learning areas. These
examples only cover the scope of the specialized subjects
under the Academic Career Track and HUMSS learning
strand.
