NARRATIVE REPORT ON DISTRIBUTION OF MODULES IN THE OPENING

OF CLASSES SCHOOL YEAR 2020 – 2021

The Department of Education opt to ensure that learning must continue

amidst the global pandemic brought upon the COVID – 19, to cope with the new
normal. As well, they have presented operating frameworks, strategies and
innovations to frame the new normal in our educational system which leads to
promulgating the memorandum on Distance Learning Delivery Modality all
throughout the country (Dep.Ed 2020). Similarly, the Sirawai District as part of the
Division of Zamboanga del Norte chose modular distance learning as the mode of
delivering continuous learning to learners as it best applies in the community. With
this, the Bitugan Elementary School have realized the plan to distribute the modules
before the opening of classes.

In preparation for the opening of classes on the fifth of October, the Bitugan
Elementary School have distributed the module earlier than the said date, ensuring
that on the opening of classes on Monday, the pupils are already set at home with
the self-learning modules, textbooks, worksheets and weekly home learning plan
handed in them.

In so doing, the parents arrived at school at the exact time of releasing of

modules wherein during the process, health protocols and standards were tailed
such as: wearing of facemask, observing social distancing, temperature checking,
handwashing, sanitizing, stepping on the footbath. Right after, they advanced to the
grade level where they got the module but prior to entering the classrooms, they
followed the same sanitation procedures prepared in every classroom. They lined up
while observing physical distancing while others were sitting waited their turn to
transact with the teachers for the modules and attendance. As soon as they received
the modules, the teachers instructed them the process involved in doing the
modules and weekly home learning plan and alike. The “go-home immediately”
policy right after they received the modules was also followed.
Finally, the school distributed the ninety-one percent (93%) of the module of
the said date. The remaining 9 modules was distributed on the following days
preceding to the opening of classes. The table below shows the number of learners
in a grade level and the number of modules distributed per level.
