In the above-mentioned DILG Memorandum Circular, local
government units are given a period of SIXTY DAYS (60 days) to comply. However, as of today, informal settlers are still occupying sidewalks, particularly at Upper Calarian along the National Highway going towards Labuan where the property of Tourism Infastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) is situated. The continued occupation of these informal settlers has already caused damage to the property of TIEZA particularly the fences around its property. In view thereof, TIEZA Zamboanga, through its Resident Manager, Mr. MAGDARA A. SARIP, is seeking the assistance of Barangay Upper Calarian through you as Punong Barangay, to take action by complying with DILG Memorandum Circular 121-2019 and also to aid TIEZA in protecting its property from any further damage which may be caused by the continued occupation of these informal settlers.
