and smoothly
HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that damages the immune system by
infecting and destroying CD4 cells. The more CD4 cells that are destroyed, the weaker the
immune system will be, making it vulnerable to various diseases.
This virus can be transmitted through contact with infected blood, semen, or vaginal
fluids. Within a few weeks of HIV infection, flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, and
fatigue may develop. Then the disease is usually without symptoms until it progresses to AIDS.
Symptoms of AIDS include weight loss, fever or night sweats, fatigue, and recurrent infections.
There is no cure for AIDS, but strict adherence to anti-retroviral (ARV) regimens can
dramatically slow the progression of the disease and prevent secondary infections and
complications.
HIV management by providing antiretroviral therapy (ARV) which functions to prevent
the immune system from decreasing at risk of facilitating opportunistic infections, until now
there has been no curative management to treat HIV. Therefore, it is very important for HIV
patients not to stop taking all medications and that at least three or more of the drugs prescribed
are taken together. Combining different drugs has been shown to be more effective because the
chances of developing viral resistance to therapy are lower.
So HIV is an infectious disease that attacks the body's immunity by transmission
through contact with infected blood, semen, or vaginal fluids. With flu symptoms, fever, sore
throat and fatigue occur. There is no cure for HIV but medical experts give antiretrovirals
(ARVs) to inhibit infection and prevent the immune system from reducing.
