Reflection Essay
After watching all of the teaching demonstration videos, I got some great ideas and a
All of the videos are very interesting and helpful and they give me some rips and some examples
on how I want to teach my future classroom. For example, the video HS Fine arts allows me to
see how to respond to questions for example: Why does my child need to take Pre-K? I like his
answer that certain problem solving like in math helps develop certain muscles in our brain. The
Mathematical Modeling video shows one of the teachers doing an application of the lesson at the
beginning of every lesson, giving every student a chance to see what they will be learning about
and ways they can see it in the real world and that’s something I definitely will use in my
classroom. Another of the things I liked was when the teacher in the video Grades 7-9 English
Language Arts talked about a word and told the students what the word meant to him but he
never said “this is the correct definition”. This allowed the students to come up with what it

student has a right to form their own opinions and express what they think or how they feel about
Something that I believe that helps students to earn new languages or just anyone is when they
use it and practice it on a daily. I like the video Teaching Foreign Language and how the teacher
has the students only speak Spanish and even when they don’t know a word or how to say
something he helps them figure it out instead of telling the students straight up. This helps
students to use their brain and memory and also gives them a feel of what it would be like in the
real world to be in a Spanish speaking country. This is one of my favorite videos because it
made me realize how much this helps students expand their knowledge about different cultures

and languages and how this could benefit them in the real world. In the art student role video, I
enjoy and like how the teacher associates’ words with dance moves and makes the students tell
her about different dance moves they could do. It is also so neat how when the students are
dancing the teacher will encourage students to move and dance in any way and encourages them
and builds them up and lets them know that all dance moves are great. Getting active and doing
hand signals or dance moves to new words will help kids better remember new words and use
them correctly. The under-construction video is something I have always believed in that
students can not really learn from just reading something and answering questions. Students
retain information when they do hands on activities and have communicate with their classmates
about what they are learning. I like the point the teacher makes in numbers and operations that
you first need to not just teach them that subtracting is taking away but its how many numbers
All the videos had great take away and there’s a lot of things from the videos that I want to use in
my future classroom.
