It gives me great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Thida Xiong. I have had
the privilege of working with her for the past four years in both an academic and a community
service environment as the El Capitan High School Leo Club Advisor.

During this time, Thida has demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the principles of
the sponsoring Lions Club’s mission of “we serve.” She has been an active member of the El
Capitan High School Leo Club for four years. In past years, she has served as the club Secretary
and club Treasurer. She is currently the club President.

In her role as club President, she has demonstrated excellent leadership skills. She has worked
closely with club officers and members to keep the club supporting the community with many
viable projects despite the challenges of COVID-19.

Thida is a highly motivated individual as evidenced by her strong desire to pursue a career in
Social Work or Psychology. Thida’s challenging academic course work and her excellent
achievement (4.2 GPA) while attending high school has put her on track to accomplish
whatever she desires.

In group settings, Thida’s easy-going personality and can-do attitude motivates all those with
whom she works. She is highly regarded by her peers as a caring friend and a hardworking
individual. She has certainly been an inspiration to me.

I wholeheartedly recommend Thida for any scholastic opportunity that would enhance her
educational experience. Any assistance, either financial or within a setting of greater
opportunity for professional work experience, would be a worthy investment by your
