Grade & Section: _____________________________________________ Date : _____________

Objective: 1. Determines the missing term/s in a sequence of numbers (e.g. odd numbers, even
numbers, multiples of a number of factors of a number, etc.,)
2. Finds the missing number in an equation involving properties of operations.

Number sequence is a list of numbers arranged in a row. Each number in the sequence is called
term.
To find the missing term/s in a number sequence, we must first look for its pattern.

A. Study the Multi Rule Map, then write your own example on the box provided.

Definition of Even
10, 12, 14, 16, ___, ____
numbers

10, 12, 14, 16, ___, ____

Rules in finding the
missing term
10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20

B. Study the examples then write the rules on the dialogue box and your example on the
box.

27, 31, ___, 39, ___, 47, 51

An equation is mathematical sentence that states the equality of expressions.

In the first equation, you will use the Distributive Property of Multiplication over Addition:
A. 10 x (2 + 5) = (10 x 2) + (10 x 5)
10 x 7 = 20 + 50
70 = 70
In the second equation, you will use the Commutative Property and Associative Property of
Addition
B. (40 + 5) + (30 + 15) = (5 + 15) + (40 + 30)
45 + 45 = 20 + 70

4. 38, 42, 46, ___, ____, 58
5. 4, 8, 16, ___, ____
II. Give the property used in each equation. Then, write the missing numbers.

1) (6 + 12) + (5 + 7) = (5 + ___) + (__ + 12):_______________

2) (7 x 6) x 5 = ____(6 x ___) : ___________________
3) 20 + ____ = 40 + ____ : ___________________
4) 24 + (36 + 50) = (___ + ____) + 50:___________________
5) 7 x (10 + 5) = (___ x 10) + (7 x __): ___________________

Objective: 1. Finds the elapsed time in minutes and seconds

2. Estimates the duration of time in minutes
3. Solves problems involving elapsed time.

Elapsed Time is the length of time when an event happened ( from start to end)
To find the elapsed time, you can do the following:
1. Subtract the time when the event started from the time the event ended.
2. Use a number line.
3. Count the number of seconds or minutes from the time the event started to the time the event
ended.

Activity:

A. Complete the table by filling in the elapsed time.
