The English Activity Sheet will help you facilitate the leaching-
learning activities specified in each Most Essential Learning Competency
(MELC) with minimal or no face-to-face encounter between you and
learner. This will be made available to the learners with the
references/links to ease the independent learning.

Direction: Read the paragraph. Encircle the letter of the mood
of the story.
1. The sea! Kami’s eyes grew wide. The sea! What happened

involves applying heat, in most cases this transforms the
chemical makeup of food, altering its texture, flavor, nutritional
properties and appearance.

1. Tone is the attitude of the author toward the subject,
the reader, or the characters.

angry, cheerful, formal, ironic, authoritative, gloomy,
sad, serious, important, amused, humorous,

2. Mood is the feeling the reader gets from reading the
author’s words.
