MOTIVATION

Aside from the talent to draw, act, sing and dance, an artist should be sincere of what
he/she is doing. An artist should put all their effort and soul in their works in order to
provide meaningful pieces to the audiences. For me, I am very emotional person. So my art
will be more about personal feelings, thoughts and emotions that some of the audiences can
relate into. They can relate their own experiences with mine through the artwork that I've
done. An artwork that will be able to inspire and motivate other people through the
meaning behind it.

EXERCISE 1

1. I think it's their passion that impacted most of the people's impression to arts. Our
Filipino and Filipina artists put their hearts and soul in their artwork. They make art to to
motivate people through their works that focus on the history of the Philippines; to inspire,
educate and wake them up to reality. Also, through them and their passion in arts, many
unheard and unspoken words that cries for freedom and help by our Filipino citizens
became possible to be expressed. I think that's why they impacted people's life through art
because an artist makes everything possible for people who are afraid to raise their voices
and speak for what they want and for what they believe in.
2. To understand more the concept they used in creating the artwork. If you know the
artist and the background of the artists, you tend to understand more the reason why they
end up with that artwork.

ACTIVITY 1

ACTIVITY 2

Rice Painting by Fernando Amorsolo

1. The artwork "Rice Painting" by Fernando Amorsolo is all about the Filipino farmers
who still finds reason to smile amidst hardships. Specifically, finding happiness in the midst
of difficulties upon planting rice.

2. To promote the traditional Filipino practices that is still relevant to the present times
including the way of living oe source of income, which is the planting of rice and the clothes
that is originally from the Philippines.

3. First, the painter of the artwork which is Fernando Amorsolo is part of the
Contemporary Filipino Artists, considering the era they lived in. Second, the artwork is all
about history and stories about the background of filipino farmers so it is considered as a
Contemporary art.

4. Since the time it was created was the era where the American Period evolved, it shows
how the Filipino blood still dominant. It's like conveying that even though there's
colonization, Filipino people is still fighting for our country.

GENERALIZATION
1. The role of the Flipino Artists is to express the life of our community. They often use
their talents to inspire others and educate them about the importance of art in one's life
and in society.

2. Filipino women artists paved the way of arts in our society by proving that there should
not be a Gender role in the Society. That both men and women can inspire and do things to
motivate people as long as their intentions are pure.

3. Filipino artists contributes to preserving old and new forms of arts. The arts that takes
place years ago is still acknowledge and preserve to educate people and for them to
internalize the meanings behind those art forms. Trough it, they can also reflect and share
their ideas about the matter and promote it to others and other generations as well.

4. They serves as the way to open people's eyes to see the beauty of art. And makes path for
them to also express themselves through different forms of artworks.
