SCHEDULE
Shooting script:

(young
folks plays softly)
Voiceover:
‘I spoke to the youth of today about the north south divide,
the media mainly focuses on the older generations views when
it comes to the divide, I wanted to further understand how
young people think and feel about it.’
(boys and girls plays in the background)
Voiceover:
‘There has always been a divide
in the uk, be it a differ in
accents and taste in music to
places that are well funded and
backed by the government and
places that just aren’t.’

Voiceover:
‘The people of the south
have their unfair
stereotypes of the
north, but the north
also do have a
stereotype for this south which is seemingly the opposite of
theirs.’

(Chelsea dagger plays in the

background)
Roisin interview

Emily’s interview

Thomas’s interview
(T-shirt weather plays in the background)
voiceover: ‘A question I was most
interested in asking was what do you think of Margret
thatcher? Asa lot of young people may know thatcher’s name but
definitely not her story.’

Roisin interview

Emily’s interview

Thomas’s interview

Miners interview:
‘she didn’t care, she did
make a lot of people’s
lives hell from this
village, a lot of them,
everybody’s lost their
houses, their all-in debt, and some of them haven’t recovered
anyway since, while she were all smiling to London, London
were all thinking she’s alright, she were all looking after
the rich, she didn’t look after an
actual working class man.’
ex miner:
‘Margret Thatcher said she’s going
to do every union she started off
with the steel workers then to
British railway and then with the
miners, I hate her.’

ex miner:
‘My dad were a miner, his dad
were a miner, all me family were
miners, were all ex miners.’

Voiceover:
‘as unfair as it sounds if
you live and work in the
south,m you’re nearly
almost always going to be
paid more than someone in the
north doing the exact
same job. This is why I
wanted to ask these young
people what their future
plans are location wise.’
(Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac
playing in the background)
Roisin interview

Thomas’s interview

Emily’s interview

Voiceover:
‘The people of the uk
deserve equality but it
seems no matter how hard
they fight, they still go
unnoticed.’

Emily’s interview
Voiceover:
‘After talking to all of these
people each from different
locations, its taught me that
the divide is prominent even
though the government is trying
to help, its making me think
that although the divide is a
very physical thing, maybe it
could also be psychological
too’
(connection by Elastica lays as

CREW LIST

Aimee-
Aimee will be helping me with setting up and monitoring the
camera during my interviews where I need to be on screen,
she will also help me with making sure that the audio stays
consistent. Aimee is the correct fit for my crew as she
understands my vision and is allowing me to use her camera
for some of my interviews, so in order for me to use the extra
equipment Aimee is lending me she must be there and is
willing to help with other production elements

Ben-
Ben I will be assisting Aimee while I’m talking to the camera
and my interviewees, ben will be helping me with doing a
walking introduction, so I will need both him and Aimee for
this. I have chosen ben as he has demonstrated his technical
skills in his work and I feel like I can trust him to man the
camera and respect my equipment.

Cerys- I will be working on my own documentary manning

the camera at times when I don’t need to be on screen and
also ensuring the lighting compliments my visuals, at times
when I’m on screen my role will be as presenter or
interviewer, I will be editing my final production which is
another one of my roles.

CONTINGENCY PLAN

My current plan is to use Thomas for

an interview, I chose Thomas because
of his knowledge on my topic and I feel that he can really inform my
audience, however if for any reason Thomas can’t make the scheduled
day of filming, I’m willing to work around my schedule and fit him in
on another day, however if Thomas decides that he no longer wants to
be part of my production I have another person who is willing to step
in, Aimee has a lesser amount of knowledge on my topic but she still
understands the concept and with some guidance it can work, I may
have to change my questions if I have to interview Aimee instead of
Thomas which is another thing I have to factor in.
I’m planning to shoot all of my in-person interviews inside so that I
can ensure that the sound is of a high quality and that I have control of
the lighting, if I come across any issues with my indoor locations I
have a sheltered space outdoors that I can use as well as another
indoor location that I would have to get permission for.
I will also be holding some digital interviews, I have to be very
careful that my set up for recording them is prepared and working, if
something goes wrong like a power cut on one end, I will either
reschedule or offer that the person records themselves answering the
questions and I present their answers in my production.
To avoid having to use my contingency plan I would like to make
sure that I’m sticking to my schedule at all times, I will also work
outside of college hours to ensure that my work is done on time.
