Hotel & Tourism Management Department Held an Annual Gala Dinner Event entitled “Le Vie En Rose”

Gala Dinner, which is an annual activity of semester 5 students of Swiss German University’s Hotel &
Tourism Management department, was successfully held on December 2, 2018 at Alila Hotel Jakarta.
The Gala Dinner event is a showcase for students, to apply their knowledge about organizing MICE
event, food and beverage production, and the service practical they have learned in the previous
semesters. In addition, this event is also an appreciation from students to their parents, who have
supported their study at SGU.

This year’s theme, Le Vie En Rose, is taken as an illustration of timeless living beauty in happiness. As the
last event before the fifth semester students depart to conduct their second internship activity abroad,
the Gala Dinner is expected to provide an intimate impression and also happiness between the students
and their parents. Together, the committee prepared the concept of the event, food choices, and venue
decoration, so that the intimacy and gratitude to their parents can be conveyed deeply and memorable.

The event was opened by the Head of Hotel and Tourism Management department, Munawaroh Zainal,
M.M., and continued with remarks by the General Manager of Le Vie En Rose, Alexander Patrick
Pantoro. In her remarks, Mrs. Munawaroh mentioned about how hard the effort from the students to
prepare and present the best Gala Dinner, as their gratitude for their parents. She also conveyed her
appreciation for support from the parents in trusting SGU as their choice for their children to study.

The menus served during the gala dinner were potato cream soup served with vegetables lavoush for
appetizer, and seared young chicken breast served with mashed potatoes, with wild mushrooms and
tomato cherry for the main course. Continued with vanilla cheese cake tulles serve with pistachio tulles
and raspberry sorbet for the dessert.

Hopefully, all knowledge and experience the students gained during their study at SGU could be applied
well in their internship abroad and also when entering the real working environment.
