INSTRAGRAM GROWTH RECIPE

This might not seem like my typical article, but it’s actually just like every other article I write, because it’s in response to what the ATG
membership is asking me for!

I may not have the biggest Instagram following, but as of this morning I have created 32.7 thousand followers in less than 29 weeks. Being able
to organically generate over 1000 followers per week does not happen by accident, and social media is how I spread this ATG system I am so
passionate about, so I approach my Instagram with the same precision as my training. Odds are, you and I found each on Instagram!

A lot of ATG members themselves are trainers or business owners, and in the last few weeks I have had a lot of members asking me for
Instagram tips and telling me that Instagram growth is one of their 2020 goals.

Since the theme of this week is setting your 2020 goals up for success, I realized this would be a helpful topic to cover…

So here’s my systematic approach:

1. You must have a weekly time that you go over your Instagram statistics, and it must be the same time each week. At ATG we meet every
Friday, so we record our statistics Thursday morning at 9am. It doesn’t matter which day, just that it’s the same each week. We take the
statistics on Thursday so we can compile them all, plot them on a graph, and present them at a group staff meeting on Friday. The reason
plotting on a graph is important is that it allows you to see trends, by comparing one graph to another. Watch this video and you will see the 3
Instagram statistics I recommend tracking:

In the video you will see the first section is Content. All I care about is the total combined number of page and story posts. In the case of mine
this week, it was 600. But 400 is the quota I’ve found which allows me to consistently go up by 1000 or more followers per week. After
spraining the heck out of my ankle on Sunday (which is recovering remarkably, and the topic of this Monday’s podcast!), I knew I would have
a lot of time at home. Without being able to walk, I decided to go extra hard on IG. So 600 is NOT the norm, but I do ALWAYS get over my
quota of 400.
The next section you will see is Activity. All I want to know is how many website clicks I got. In the case of this week, 1,674 is -221 compared
to last week, HOWEVER this was still my second-highest week ever, as I’ve been hitting a whole new range lately. I don’t have a quota here,
because it’s not something I can directly control. But knowing how many clicks I’m getting tells me how effective I actually was that week, and
it also allows me to compare how many people click, vs how many actually sign up.
The final stat is in the last section: Audience. All I want to see is how many new followers I got. This week was +2210, which is WAY higher
than my usual +1000. I can already gather from looking at this week’s stats that the increase of posting leads to more followers, but that
people probably have to follow me longer and get to know me better before actually looking into ATG online coaching. Much like website
clicks, new followers is a REFLECTION of what I am doing, and not something I can directly control. The one thing you can DIRECTLY
control is the number of total stories and posts you put out each week…

By keeping track of your statistics properly each week, you already enter a whole new level of potential. As far as tips on the content itself, here
are the following things I have found to be true for me:

Use posts on your page for quality and posts in your story for quantity. Your page is like your billboard: someone driving by should be able to
quickly get a feel for who you are. But stories come and go, so if you stress too much about the quality of your story posts, you’re wasting
time and missing out on the benefits of quantity. Story posts are like flyers: it’s more about how many you hand out, than how fancy the flyer
is. Story posts also allow you to interact with your colleagues and friends, and share influence between one another. Story posts are actually
much better for connecting with others than page posts are, due to how easy it is to re-post when someone mentions you in their story.
I do 1 page post a day as a regular habit, while being much more free with my stories.
2
I don’t count my stories, rather: I check my Instagram statistics every morning when I wake up to make sure I’m above my 400 quota. If I’m
not, I open up an “Ask me a question…” in my story, which automatically drives in questions which I can then answer publicly as posts,
driving UP my total posts without having to think about what content to make!
I take this page-for-quality-stories-for-quantity so seriously, that I only keep one page post of its type at a time! So if I want to make a page
post about the value of mastering the ATG Split Squat, I will then delete my earlier post regarding the ATG Split Squat. This automatically

de-clutters my page, and allows someone looking at it to learn who I am much more quickly, since anything they’re looking at will be unique,
with no time spent re-looking at the same thing.
In terms of advertising, I take 10% of my paycheck each week and then set ads for the upcoming 7 days. That is my only structure so far
regarding Instagram ads: I never exceed 10%, and I take it on a week-by-week basis.
Last-but-not-least, I finish every workday by answering every DM. This prevents a backlog from building up, and gives me stability: clients-
first, potential-clients second. In other words, I make sure all my actual work tasks are done, and then I make sure all my DMs are answered.
When opportunities present themselves earlier in the day, whether it be backward sled dragging, stretching, etc., I use the time to get ahead.
I will routinely stretch for an hour straight and answer DMs the whole time. Let me make sure I properly emphasize this one:

STRETCHING IS A GAMECHANGER FOR DM EFFICIENCY!

I hope this article has been of some use to you. Tomorrow I will be back in touch to drop a GUEST ARTICLE by Derek aka @mr1nf1n1ty – who
will be sharing his top sled protocols for those wanting to get shredded and skyrocket GH in 2020! We are trying a new feature where Derek,
Jeff, and Connor will cycle a guest article each Friday! Next Friday Jeff will be covering strength training for gymnastics (which will also be on
app), and the week after Connor will be dropping the Connor Barth Chronicles, his exact 3-Phase strategy (which will also be on app) so
anyone can follow in the footsteps of his plan to become the world’s UNDISPUTED highest jumper. He’s now on Phase 2 and is
already arguably the world’s highest jumper, but Connor really doesn’t like to argue.

Yours in Gains,
Ben
