ALADDIN

Aladdin, a kind-hearted street urchin living in the Arabian city of Agrabah along with
his pet monkey, Abu, who is love with the Sultan’s daughter, Princess Jasmine. Princess
Jasmine, the Sultan’s daughter and the feisty princess of Agrabah who wants to have a say
in how she lives her life. The stories begin when Jafar, the grand vizier of Sultan seeks a
magic lamp that hidden in the Cave of Wonders that will grant him three wishes. Jafar
discover Aladdin to retrieve the lamp and bait him but it happened otherwise when Abu
accidentally causes the cave collapse after he picks up a ruby. While trapped in the cave,
Genie, who lives inside the lamp,show himself to Aladdin when he rubs outside the lamp.
After Genie introduced himself, Aladdin begins with the first official wish which is to become a
prince just want to make Jasmine fall in love with him. After that, Aladdin enters Agrabah as
Prince Ali of Ababwa and makes everybody believe that he is actually a prince. With a
grudge, Jafar seized the lamp from Aladdin and was granted three wishes to Genie which is
first, want to become a Sultan of Agrabah, second, the most powerful pastor and the last one
is the most powerful being in the universe than Genie. Unfortunately, his last wish made he
turn into a genie, chained to the lamp without a master and also trapped together with his pet
parrot sidekick lago for the next 1000 years. With the happy ending, Genie have turn into a
human and marries Dalia, Jasmine’s servant and leaves to explore the world with their new
family while Aladdin and Jasmine getting married then start a new life as well. Based on this
movie, it taught me a lot of positive values, but I dislike when Aladdin changed himself just
for love.
 First, I really love the inner self of Princess Jasmine. As we know, some descendants
of the king have their own characters, but Jasmine, she thinks about her people and wants to
give the best to rule Agrabah when the time comes. She also has learned on how to rule a
kingdom and prove to the Sultan that she can replace him. It is not wrong if we start with
bottom to learn something that will show us a success in future. If we want to be a leader, or
a king, we should be brave and strong to defend something. ‘Brave reflects the power’. In
this movie, Jasmine dared herself to move forward in defense of Agrabah although at that
time, the guards had been ordered by Jafar to drive Jasmine out of the palace. Jasmine has
proved the Sultan on way that she talked to Hakim regarding the loyalty that he had since
child and persuaded him to protect Agrabah from Jafar. We can conclude that Jasmine loved
Agrabah by defending her people from Jafar’s destruction.

Besides, this movie also taught me about seeking solely after power could not make a
person feel satisfied, but in fact, will be destructive path such greedy and arrogant. Power is
the capacity of an individual to influence the conduct (behaviour) of others. Power can be seen as
evil or unjust and also can change someone whether to be better or bad. For example, after
Jafar has turned into a Sultan, he still mad and unsatisfied when nobody wants to obey him
although he has become a Sultan thus refused to be second. This shown that Jafar could not
to accept any rebuke or suggestion even though when comes about government matters.
Next, with the greed of power that he has, he made a wished to Genie which he wants to
become the most powerful pastor and the most powerful being in the universe more than
Genie. Unfortunately, the wishes are arm him. We must know that all what we target, we
could not to achieve it if there is no effort in yourself.

However, I dislike on how Aladdin changed himself. Generally, all people know that
love is everything. Sometimes, love can change a person to be better or otherwise. For me, it
is not wrong to make someone notice us or make them fall in love with us, but the initiative
that Aladdin took in this movie is wrong just because he want to make Jasmine love him back
by willingly believed and helped Jafar to retrieve the lamp. Based on his intention, he wants
to get closer with Jasmine by asking a help from Genie to turn him into a prince. Besides, he
also lied to Jasmine at the beginning scene of the movie which is he told Jasmine that he
only act as a commoner when they met for the first time at bazaar. Aladdin is willingly to
create a story solely just want to get the attention from Jasmine. At last, all lies have been
revealed in front of Jasmine. All in all, we should start a relationship with honesty because
the lie will not last long and will be uncovered.
 In conclusion, I will rate this movie 4 and a half of 5 because of the interesting
storyline of the movie. Might be some people think this movie is cliché, but for me, it is a
good movie because have an interesting and perfect storyline thus the actors and actress
also give a lots of love and effort on their character. But with a little bit change on scene
Aladdin’s changed method, it can be more interesting and can attract different generations to
watch this movie. In short, Aladdin’s movie has taught me about the positive values so that I
can practice apply it in my life.
