Like subject-verb agreement and pronoun-antecedent agreement, proper use of
prepositions and conjunctions is necessary in communications. Conjunctions serve
as bridges between sentences and help them in joining together and completing the
meaning of the sentences (Tutorvista, 2019). Prepositions, on the other hand, act as
vital markers to the structure of a sentence; they mark special relationships between
persons, objects, and locations (British Council, 2014) . Failure to use both properly
may lead to misunderstanding or miscommunication.
Conjunctions should be used properly along with punctuations. Conjunctions are
some of the most widely used words in the English language, but when it comes to
conjunctions and punctuation, many writers still have trouble (First Editing, 2019).
