A. Introduction What I Need to Know?


 The learners will go over the
instructions on how to use the
module carefully.
 The learners will do the walkthrough
of the lesson expectations.
 Learning objectives will also be
introduce to guide the learners on
the learning targets founded on
KSAV principles.

Read and study the words given
below. Try to construct a simple sentence
about it.

B. Development What I Know?

 The learners will answer the 4 item


test activity to test what they know
about the declarative sentence.
 After answering the activity they
may check their answers on page
13 to determine their background
knowledge about the given topic
reflected in the MELC.

Directions: Read the following and


color the correct block in purple.

What’s In?

 The learners will arrange the


jumbled words in a proper way to
make meaningful sentence.

Please refer to ADM page 4

 If the learners arrange the words


correctly to make it a declarative
sentence, they may proceed to the
next activity.

What is it?

A Declarative sentence declares


or states something. It helps to make a
statement or fact to provide information. It
ends with a period (.)

Example:

The grass is green after the rain.


Our house is very clean.

My new dress is black and white.

The room smells clean.

The dog chased the boy.

C. Engagement What’s more?

 The learner will answer the Guided


Activity 1 and 2.

answer is correct they may proceed
to the next activity.

What I can do?

Directions: Color the apple tree. Put color


GREEN on the leaves and BROWN to its
trunk. Put color RED to the apples that
shows declarative sentence.

 The learners will write their own


declarative sentences.

Direction: Write you own


declarative sentences on the given
space below. Begin your sentence
with a capital letter and put a
correct punctuation mark at the
end.

D. Assimilation What I have learned?

A Declarative sentence is a
sentence in the form of a statement. It tells
something and it ends with a period(.).

 This is the most important


types of sentences.
 It is also states the facts,
opinions and other
statements.
 It can be simple, complex or
compound sentence.
 Does not need an answer.
 It is punctuated with a
period.

What I can do? ( Assessment)

 The learners will answer the activity


provided.
 They may check their answers using
the key answer found at the latter
part of the module.

Directions: Draw a star after the


statement if it is a declarative sentence. And
draw a crest if it is not.
