LESSON PLAN
Unit Title: Computer Data and Information
Suggested Time Allotment: 60 minutes
Suggested Number of Session: 1

I. OBJECTIVES
This lesson will provide you the concept of how a computer stores all the information and communicates
to each other.
Specific Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
1. differentiate data and information;
2. discover 4 Main Aspects of Data Handling; and
3. familiarize with the computer's data handling process.

ISTE Standards: The learners develop;

Digital Citizen
Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an
interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical.
NGEE Standards: The learners able to;
Ask questions, make observations, and gather information about a situation people want to change to
define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Content/Topic: Data Handling
Concepts:
i. Data is raw, unorganized facts that require processing.
ii. Information is a data that is processed, organized, structured or presented in a given context to
make it useful.
iii. Computer is an electronic machine that is able to receive data then turn it into information
which can also be stored for safekeeping or later reuse.
iv. Input is the data entered in the computer system for processing.

v. Processing of data is the process when CPU interprets and executes program instructions then
turns it into information.
vi. Output is the presented result by the Central Processing unit.
vii. Storage is where the computer holds and saves the created information for later use.
