E-FOLIO MEMOIRS

■ What were the best and worst parts of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar?
- The best part was seeing kids comfortable and happy in their classes, the worst was not being able to find
anything that represented any of the student racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

■ List three things you now know after completing your Senior Project.
- I know that I want to have a career with something that has to do with kids
- I also know that Triton Public Schools need more spanish speaking staff and more poc

■ Which aspect of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar stretched you the most? How did you feel about and react to
this challenge?
- Going into classes because I'm extremely shy , the first class I went to I waited about 5 minutes outside the
classroom to emotionally get myself together. Also emailing the teachers because I didn't know the right
words to say I would type out an email then have one of my mentors check for any mistakes.

■ How has the Senior Project/Senior Seminar changed you (skills, attitudes, work habits, capabilities, confidence,
poise, presentation, etc.)?
- The Senior Project/Senior Seminar changed me in many different ways to start off i've always thought that i'd
be the kid that just didn't do their senior project because I genuinely didn't know what to do for my senior
project and now that i'm almost done it makes me feel good, hopeful that I will be successful or at least that I
won't give up. I have become more confident in myself and my abilities to do what I put my mind into. I have
learned how to create a resume, file taxes, go through an interview, do CPR and get certified. Sadly the most
important thing that changed me was noticing that our school is lacking in equity and equality.

■ Has this experience influenced your future plans?

- Yes I want a career where i'm able to work with kids

■ What would you do differently if you had to do the whole Senior Project/Senior Seminar process again?
- I'd start a lot sooner, I would try to get more teachers to let me go into their classrooms. I'd make my
checklist a bit more specific and probably would have tried to interact with students a bit.

■ What advice do you have for next year’s seniors?

- Get it done as soon as you can , you don't want to procrastinate about this. Make sure that your senior project
is something you know you will enjoy and are passionate about otherwise it's more like homework and it ain't
much fun. Also get your efolio and MCIS done you do not want to do all last minute.

■ What grade would you give yourself for your Senior Project and what justification do you have for that grade?
- The grade that I would give myself for my senior project would be a B because I know that I could have done
a lot better but I chose to procrastinate until the start of second semester.
