■ Skyler Freerksen

■ What were the best and worst parts of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar?
The best part of my Senior Project was getting it done so that my dog is much
more well-trained. The worst part of Senior Seminar was the presentations in
front of the class because I have always hated and struggled to do them.
■ List three things you now know after completing your Senior Project.
1. How to efficiently teach some new commands

2. How to properly teach new commands with the use of positive

reinforcement

3. The different types of dog training

■ Which aspect of the Senior Project/Senior Seminar stretched you the most? How did you feel
about and react to this challenge?
I think the part of Senior Seminar that has stretched me the most is
researching content creators and how many different types there are that anyone
could go into.
■ How has the Senior Project/Senior Seminar changed you (skills, attitudes, work habits,
capabilities, confidence, poise, presentation, etc.)?
The Senior Project has changed me by making me learn new skills, test out
my capabilities in dog training, and challenging my confidence in presenting to
the class.
■ Has this experience influenced your future plans?
I wouldn't say that this project has influenced my plans because I never really
had any interest in doing dog training as a whole, except for the basics, but I do
think it will make it a lot simpler to train any future dogs that I may or may not
have with the experience I have gained.
■ What would you do differently if you had to do the whole Senior Project/Senior Seminar process
again?
If I had to do this project again I would most definitely start earlier.
■ What advice do you have for next year’s seniors?
Try to start your project in the summer before your senior year.
■ What grade would you give yourself for your Senior Project and what justification do you have
for that grade?

The grade I would give myself is a B. I say that I would give myself a B
because I worked effectively and efficiently, but I feel that I could have been a
little more efficient and that I could have done more than I was able to
accomplish.
