WRITING (20 MARKS)

Write an essay of 250 - 300 words on problems encountered during online learning.

Online education or an online classroom is an online learning method used in schools around
the world. There are many benefits that students will gain by opting for online learning.
However there are also numerous challenges that students encounter when attempting to learn
in virtual classes.
First of all, students need to devote more time learning a course or subject in an online
classroom compared to a physical classroom. It will require longer effort than normal to learn
more about assignments, assessment instruments, submit assignments.
Then the second problem, in online distance learning, technology is the key medium from
which information and connectivity flow. A computer with good internet connection is
typically required for this process. Online distance learners also face difficulties in the
understanding and mastery of information technology abilities and skills.
The third problem is, involves a more independent way of studying. Online learning will
make it impossible for a student to sacrifice their freedom. Students may fail to catch up the
assignments date with the deadlines, or even meet the deadline in the first place.
In conclusion, online learning is a type of education system that allows students to learn
about any specific course or subject from nearly any place, simply by providing access to a
decent internet link and digital technologies. There are also problems facing students when it
comes to online learning. And some of these difficulties are the absence of a proper mentor,
the temptation to procrastinate, to be easily distracted, and other challenges.
