SUBJECT: REPAIR PROCEDURE OF AFTER COOLER AIR HOSE CLAMP ON


PC1100-6 AND BR1600JG-1

PURPOSE: To introduce modification procedures for the clamps for hoses of the air in-
take circuit for the engine on the PC1100-6/BR1600JG-1

DESCRIPTION:

1. Introduction
Modify the clamps for the hoses of the air intake circuit for the engine (turbocharger -
after-cooler - intake manifold) on the PC1100 "-6" Series hydraulic excavators and on
BR1600JG-1 mobile crusher following the procedures outlined in this Service News.

3. Contents of the modification

The shape of the clamps for the hoses of the air intake circuit for the engine (turbo-
charger - after-cooler - intake manifold) has been modified to improve their reliability and
durability against breakage.

4. Modification procedures

4-1) Replace the hose clamps indicated in Fig. 2 below with the improved clamps.

4-2) Although the hose clamping at the inlet port section and outlet port section (sections
marked in Fig. 2) of after-cooler is of a single-clamp structure, make them the
double-clamp structure at the opportunity of this modification. (Hose clamping of
other sections than the above are of the double-clamp structure presently.)

Clamp tightening torque: 9.8 Nm

worm sections of a pair of clamps are
offset by 180º from each other, as
shown in Fig. 1.
