Encourage the patient to keep the
patient clean and dry to avoid
spread of microorganism that can
affect the health condition of the
patient.
 Give emphasis on proper hand
washing technique and having a
clean surrounding.
 Encourage patient to brush his
teeth twice a day using fluoride
toothpaste so that gum infection
will not occur

OUTPATIENT
Advise the patient to not be
hesitant to consult or contact the
doctor for emergency needs.
 SO, of patient must know about
the importance of therapeutic
regimen so that he/she can help
the patient.
 Tell patient to stop smoking,
smoking triggers Heart disease,
Stroke, Eye disease which can
lead to blindness, Nerve damage,
Kidney disease.
 Educate client on wound care,
insulin preparation, and glucose
monitoring.
 Educate patient to reduce
consumption of food rich in
carbohydrates and paired with
alcohol it may raise blood glucose.

Diet
Advise patient to increase
ingestion of fatty fish which is
important for blood sugar
regulation, Leafy green vegetables
which is also rich in nutrients like
Vitamin C, as well as antioxidants
that protect your heart and eye
health.

Spirituality
Advise patient to participate on any
religious activity.


SEXUALITY
Tell patient that he may experience
erectile dysfunction (ED) this is
due to hormonal imbalances.
 Advise patient to take medicine
that increase blood flow doctor’s
prescription is needed.
