Vegetarians
There are many reasons why people become vegetarians, including personal health, the
environment, and the economy.
A vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat, poultry, and fish. Vegetarians mostly eat fruit,
vegetables, legumes, grains, seeds, and nuts. Vegetarians also consume eggs and dairy products, but
they avoid meat products, such as beef, chicken stocks, and gelatin.
According to research, vegetarians have lower risk of heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes,
obesity, and high blood pressure. This may happen due to a healthy vegetarian diet, which has low
fat but high fibre.
However, a vegetarian diet can be high in fat if it includes excessive amounts of fatty snacks, fried
food, whole dairy products, and eggs.
At the same time, a vegetarian diet can be simple and easy to prepare. Therefore, a vegetarian diet
must be well-planned to prevent and treat certain diseases.

Ada banyak alasan mengapa orang menjadi vegetarian, antara lain kesehatan pribadi, lingkungan,
dan perekonomian.
Vegetarian adalah orang yang tidak makan daging, unggas, dan ikan. Vegetarian kebanyakan
makan buah-buahan, sayuran, kacang-kacangan, biji-bijian, biji-bijian, dan kacang-kacangan.
Vegetarian juga mengonsumsi telur dan produk susu, namun menghindari produk daging, seperti
daging sapi, kaldu ayam, dan agar-agar.
Menurut penelitian, vegetarian memiliki risiko lebih rendah terkena penyakit jantung, kolesterol
tinggi, diabetes, obesitas, dan tekanan darah tinggi. Hal ini mungkin terjadi karena pola makan
vegetarian yang sehat, yaitu rendah lemak namun tinggi serat.
Namun, pola makan vegetarian bisa menjadi tinggi lemak jika mencakup makanan ringan berlemak,
gorengan, produk susu utuh, dan telur dalam jumlah berlebihan.
Pada saat yang sama, pola makan vegetarian bisa sederhana dan mudah disiapkan. Oleh karena itu,
pola makan vegetarian harus direncanakan dengan baik untuk mencegah dan mengobati penyakit
tertentu.
