Changing Tailing Deposition Lines/Spigots OPF1 and OPF2

1. PURPOSE,
The purpose of this Safe Work Instruction is to provide a safe system of work for all personnel
required to carry out this task. This instruction describes what must be done and how it is to be
carried out safely.

2. SCOPE,
This Safe Work Instruction shall relate to all Chichester Water Management personnel who are
required to Change deposition lines or Spigots on the OPF1 and OPF2 Tailings system at Flinders
strip 12 and 19 Tailings Storage Facilities.

3. DEFINITIONS,
“Shall”, “Must” and “Will” are mandatory.
“Should” is recommended but not mandatory.

7. DESCRIPTION OF WORK,
The Flinders Below Water Table TSF has 2 main Deposition lines. OPF1 is capable of depositing into
Flinders strip 19 and Flinders strip 12 whilst OPF 2, has 4x spigot off take that deposit into Flinders strip
19.
The OPF 2 line has 4 evenly spaced spigots to allows 1 main deposition line for even deposition or
“beaching” of the tailings around the TSF. Monitoring of the beaching is important and if done correctly
will push the supernatant pond towards the decant position.
