BES3144 – Experimental Psychology

End-of-Term Requirements and Deadlines

1. Individual Paper on Experiment Participation

 Nature: SUBMITTED INDIVIDUALLY
 Description: With a minimum of 500 words to a maximum of 1500 words, provide
details on the major aspects of each experiment you went participated in. This means that
with seven (7) experiments you attended (the 8th experiment was your group assigned
experiment), there will be seven units of narratives (include your insights on Experiment
2 which was a Demonstration Experiment on “Fun with Mazes” and label yourself as a
participant/observer). In every narrative, it is important that you:
o (1) identify the experiment where you participated in, including the date and time
when the experiment was held;
o (2) identify your type of participation (i.e., you were either a subject or you were
asked to take the role of an experimenter, even if that was not your assigned group
experiment);
o (3) narrate your actual activity during the experiment – what you were asked to
do, experiment procedures; and
o (4) what were the key learning insights from these experiences (you may need to
cite sources/references as you connect the key learning insights with some
psychological concepts and theories to support your statements.
 Manner of Submission: Through Submission Link
 Deadline: December 18, 2020, 11:59pm.
 Note: Attendance was monitored in all experiment dates. You cannot submit a
narrative for an experiment where you did not participate. Moreover, submit
original work. I will notice any form of plagiarized or “edited/enhanced” works
based on your classmates’ outputs.

2. Group Experiment Facilitation/Demonstration Narrative/Evaluation Report

 Nature: ONE SUBMISSION PER GROUP
 Description: Write a reflection/evaluation report with a minimum of 1000 to a maximum
of 1500 words describing the following:
o How was the task completed? How were the roles assigned to the members? What
strategies were undertaken to successfully migrate to an online modality of
running the experiment?
o What were the “successes” and “challenges” experienced? Be specific.
o What went well? What didn’t go well? What could have been done better?
o What lessons were learned in running the experiment?
 Manner of Submission: Through Submission Link. Only the Group Leader submits.
 Deadline: December 18, 2020, 11:59pm.

cover slide)
o The slides must include all the major parts of the experiment protocol
o Prior to the defense, the group should have resubmitted the revised experiment
protocol.
o All members must handle a portion of the presentation. The video must be ON as
a member presents his/her assigned part.
o The presentation must be completed in 15 minutes.
o A 15-minute cross-examination will be held after the presentation. The
examiner/professor can ask any member of the group to answer a question. The
video must be ON during the cross examination.
o The group members will be graded individually during the presentation and
defense. This will be equivalent to your final examination. There is a separate
grade for the experiment proposal protocol.
o All members of the group must wear at least a Type B or their uniform. Business
attire may also be worn as an alternative.
 Grading Rubric
o The following will be the rubric for assessment of performance during the
presentation and defense:
