Skills:
Through schooling, work experience, and every day learning. I have obtained the ability and working
knowledge of just about any motorized, or manual hand tool. Even more uncommon ones, such
different ranges of Micrometers. As well as hand tools. There are a range of machinery that I have
experience with. Such as band saws, lathes, and CNC Mills.

Working in manufacturing majority of my life. One of the most important tools is a forklift. And, I have
had the pleasure of learning to use a wide variety of them. 10 years of experience. Starting with the
basics. A manually operated hand jack. I also know how to operate a standing forklift and a standard
one. But, I am most proud of learning to use a Lull (Industrial sized forklift).

Work Experience(s):

* BASF (801 Dayton Avenue Ames, Iowa)

BASF has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and practical use of large scale
mixing tanks. Learning new formulas, and products that I was formally inexperiencedwith, has been a
fun challenge. One that I personally feel has only made me that much more valuable in this specific
skill set, or career trade. Some of these products are; Extender, Corteva L2012, and Corteva L2030. A
few of the worlds leading applications for agricultural seed coatings and bio-fungicides.
BASF has also allowed me to continue learning and practice my knowledge of 5’s. Some of my
cleaning and organizing methods were noticed by members of SLT (Site Leadership Team), and along
with a select handful of others. We were placed in a 5’s specialization group (Now 6s). I have been
involved in several different organization projects and even selected to lead one.

On the list of groups I am part of. Another is ERP (Exposure Reduction Program). A program
used to help reduce exposure to accidents that can happen in the work place. Through observation of
co-workers. The group is meant to help not only keep people safe. But, also notice things that could
become problematic in the future. Such as problems concerning ergonomics. Or, even out of date
machinery, tools, and even processes.

The third group that I am part of is a group that focuses on the overall quality of the entire
facility. We cover everything that comes in and out of the facility on a daily basis. From our own
products. To the ones that we receive to make our products. Safety is always number one, and of the
utmost importance. But, quality of products are not far behind it. Without quality. Ones reputation can
be found in question.

The last group that I was just as of recently ask to join. Is the Sustainability Team. A group that
focuses on how to make the every day work we do, environmental friendly. From our products. To the
machinery used to make them. This group is meant to find the cleanest options for our company and
focus on what we can do as a company. To better continue doing what we do, while also preserving the
Earth for future generations.

During my time with BASF I have learned to expand on my knowledge with technology as
well. Computers have become a basic need. Especially in the world of manufacturing. One of the most
important parts of my job is knowing how to use and understand HMI panels. Using them as a form of
communication with the tanks and machinery that are required in every day use.

BASF has allowed me to better understand the importance of PPE. I had used it before
becoming employed there. But, there are many operations that require one to know what a PPE grid is.
And, how to read one. So, that you can do your job effectively and safely.

* Diamond Vogel Paints

Through Diamond Vogel, I was able to obtain a trade, that I have excelled at. And, used as a
building block top further my career, into a much larger company. I began working with large mixing
vessels. Combining raw materials/ ingredients to make many different finished products (Paints,
Varnishes, and Sealants). During this time, I was able to growing in other trades as well. Such as a
forklift operator. General laborer. And, many other odds and ends that are required in a factory/
production position.
