Abstract
A water bottle is a container that is used to hold water, liquids or other beverages for
consumption. The use of a water bottle allows an individual to drink and transport a beverage
from one place to another.
A water bottle is usually made of plastic, glass, or metal. Water bottles are available in different
shapes, colors, and sizes. In the past, water bottles were sometimes made of wood, bark, or
animal skins such as leather, hide and sheepskin. Water bottles can be
either disposable or reusable. Reusable water bottles can also be used for liquids such as juice,
iced tea, alcoholic beverages, or soft drinks. Reusable water bottles reduce plastic waste and
contribute to saving the environment. Easily portable, water bottles make for convenient use.
Water bottles often list nutrition facts.
Introduction
Drinking water quality is deteriorating continually due to biological contamination from human
waste, chemical pollutants from industries and agricultural inputs. Piped water also gets
contaminated because pipes are laid very close to sewerage lines or open drains and cause many
serious waterborne diseases. It was found that 45% of infant deaths have been attributed to
diarrhea and about 60% to overall infectious waterborne diseases in Pakistan. According to the
World Health Organization (WHO) 25-30% of the diseases are gastro-intestinal in nature. The
poor quality of drinking water has forced a large cross-section of citizens to buy bottled water.
As a consequence of this expanding market a mushroom growth of bottled water industry in the
country is witnessed during the last few years. However, many of the mineral water companies
were found selling contaminated water. To monitor and improve the quality of bottled water, the
government of Pakistan has designated the PCRWR as focal point agency.
This is a plastic water bottle for people to store and drink water. People drink water all the time. It
is intended for almost everyone and they can purchase it in stores. The goal of the design is to
hold water effectively. There cannot be any leaking and people should be able to drink water with
ease. Furthermore, it cannot be too expensive and should be light and easy to carry along. In
addition, being visually pleasing will be ideal because people usually take out their bottles and put
them on tables. The design has achieved the goal successfully in many perspectives. Using plastic
enables the bottle to hold the water reliably. Since plastic is light, inexpensive, and ductile, this
also makes the bottle more accessible and can be carried easily. With a small hole in the top
paired with a capsule, people can drink water naturally and drink it multiples time by turning off
cap of the bottle. The angle in the middle of the shape of the bottle also makes it easy for users to
hold instead of slipping it away.

The bottle wants to communicate a message with water, something that is pure, natural, beautiful,
and is a symbol of life. This will attract people to buy the product. The color is mostly blue,
representing water and river, and a bit of white, representing ice and glaciers. There are also some
waves in the bottle that adds texture to the entire experience. Overall, the bottle’s design is quite
effective both in terms of functions and visual effects
D esign is everywhere: from your favorite video game to the shape of your shoes, everything
you use has been thought, designed, tested, and probably redesigned to offer you a quality user
experience.

What is “good” design?

Dieter Rams, a German industrial and functionalist designer, expressed in the late 70s his idea of

good design through his famous “10 Principles for Good Design”: a simple and clear list of key

points, which still remains a source of inspiration for designers today.

What is “bad” design?

If a user cannot physically connect with a product in a satisfying manner, that product is a bad
design. 4. The design is forgettable. ... Instead of being a product that is useful or enjoyable to
use, these products are so bland or useless that they leave no psychological impression on the
user.
Good design principles

1. Good Design is inclusive

2. Good Design is stress-free

3. Good Design is intuitive

4. Good Design is a problem-solver

5. Good Design is sustainable

6. Good Design is friendly

7. Good Design satisfies the senses

8. Good Design is altruist

9. Good Design blends into the environment

10. Good Design is thoughtful

Bad Design water bottles

Unlike the classic cap, this one “clips” to open and close the bottle. Not practical at all when the

bottle is full, since you need to be extra careful not to spoil too much on the floor with this barely

controlled opening. Not practical either to drink, or to put in your bag as it often leaks. The

original reason of this redesign was, however, honorable: avoid losing caps in the nature, which

end up eaten by animals.

During the Medieval Era, people drank from water skins made from animal hide. The containers

were sometimes also referred to as water bladders and were good at storing wine for knights in

battle.

Bottles were crafted from clay or stoneware and were primarily used to hold gin or whiskey from
local distillers. The bottle pictured here may also have been used as a candle holder due to dried
wax found on the inside.
Farmers kept their cool in the fields with refillable glass bottles. These could be filled up by iron
industrial well pumps that were mounted above the water wells in rural areas.

Plastic became a popular material after World War II. The first plastic water bottles came onto
the market at this time, though they cost a lot higher before polyethylene was used.
How can packaging companies provide a streamlined, effective
user experience?
It all begins with the packaging and design of the product. But that’s only the beginning – once
your bottle has been designed, it must actually be manufactured. This is where problems can
occur. If your tooling and manufacturing capabilities are lacking, you could suffer from poor
bottle and label quality, and a bad user experience.
Much of this comes down to the knives – using the correct material and cutting profile are key
components in achieving precise cuts for your application. Dull knives simply can’t cut it (pun
intended) when it comes to manufacturing modern water bottle packaging.
If your knives are poor quality, dull, not properly rotating, or otherwise faulty, you may have
issues like caps that don’t separate from collars, ugly seams, and a variety of other problems. To
avoid this, contact TGW International today. We pride ourselves on crafting only the best knives
for packaging manufacturers.
So don’t get left behind. Create a water bottle that offers a beautiful appearance and provides an
incredible user experience, and you’re sure to find success!
