Tepatitlán
(Náhuatl, “Lugar de Piedra Dura” or “Lugar del

Cuchillo Sagrado)

It is located in the Altos Sur region, in the

Municipality of Tepatitlán, Jalisco, México. It is

a small city that has less than 100,000

inhabitants and it has an urban area of 1,450

hectares.

It exists since before the conquest, inhabited

by the Tecuex Indians. He has been a

participant in several historical events in

Mexico. (witness and actor in the struggles

between Cristeros and Federales during the

Cristero War, etc)

The cultural heritage of Tepatitlán, includes :

Intangible heritage, Natural Heritage and the

traditional heritage build. (The latter has more

than 13 important buildings.)

That is the name of the fair of Tepatitlán. It

starts in mid-April and ends in mid-May.

It is a family event, which includes charrerías,

children's shows, wrestling, livestock

exhibition, sale of handicrafts among others.

Also there is the “Palenque” and “Teatro del

pueblo” there singers,artist perform.

During Teparbril there are marches and horse

rides through the city.
