Prayer of Confession
Lord, forgive us when we see your miracles all around us and
still doubt your power, presence and love. Forgive us when we
treat this world and each other with careless indifference or with
malice. You, who have created the most wondrous things from
the smallest of particles, can create in our heart’s confidence
and hope. From our lives you can fashion the most delightful
miracles that can serve you through acts of mercy and kindness.
2
Free us, Lord, to receive your blessings and, having received
them, to find the numerous ways in which we can serve you. Heal
our wounded hearts. Hear our cries. Come to us and bring us
home. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. AMEN.
Silent Confession
Assurance of Pardon
One: Let go of your fears and doubts. God pours God’s love on you,
in you and through you to others. Be at peace.
All: AMEN.
PROCLAIMING THE WORD
Prayer of Illumination
Reading from the Psalms
Psalm 1
Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the
path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; 2 but their delight is
in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night. 3 They
are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its
season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.
4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the
congregation of the righteous; 6 for the Lord watches over the way of the
righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
The Holy Bible: New Revised Standard Version. (1989). (Psalm 1). Nashville: Thomas Nelson Publishers.

CPC Neighborhood Meals
We continue to provide weekly bagged meals on Tuesdays at 5 PM in
front of the church. We assemble them at 4 PM in Don Airey Hall following
COVID-19 precautions. You can make a difference by sending in a
donation to “Neighborhood Meals” to help us continue this vital
ministry. The approximate cost of this ministry is $140 per week for these
meals. We are presently falling short of our expenses and need your support
to keep sharing these meals. If you would like to sponsor meals for a week
in memory or honor of someone, let us know and we will post your dedication
it in our announcements and online.
Blessings Box
Did you know that one in five Floridians are presently food insecure? In the
Tampa Bay area, food insecurity has doubled since the pandemic began.
The demand on our outdoor food pantry confirms this need. Please help us
keep the pantry full as our community continues to struggle with hunger.
Presently we have a great need for canned original Vienna sausages,
canned tuna, canned corned beef. No packaged spaghetti, please. Also
please avoid glass containers. Food items can be dropped off on Sunday
mornings prior to service and placed in the wheeled grocery cart, at the
church office any morning, Monday through Thursday, or Tuesday between
4 PM and 6 PM. Thank you for your continued support as we bring hope to
our neighborhood.
